We also marched in the inauguration parade, and had just participated in the 1981Tournament of Roses Parade just 19 days prior.

The crowd at the parade is going to go wild for, "I Love LA"!! It's a great arrangement too. They are parade ready!! The Dolls look fabulous. Six women and they are #ServingSoTheChildrenCanEat It was nice seeing the Lakers' Girls out there. Tomorrow is going to be busy with halftime at the Lakers' Game, BandFest, and FAME church. They definitely need to get rest before Wednesday that 5.5 parade route ain't no joke!!

Brianna Jones The 50th obviously did mean something to anyone who was or is a part of the Doll organization as most if not all the past and current dolls returned to perform at homecoming...and when the team was finally announced this season it was said that Jordan returned after all of what happened the year prior to be a part of the 50th anniversary and Rose parade - not that I feel the need to explain myself to you or anyone on KZbin. I stand by what I said in MY comment that it’s sad to not see the rest of the girls performing that we saw all season. Good day.

Whether on the freeways of L.A. or the streets of N.O.La. where the Endymion and Bacchus parades roll, I'd like to see at minimum a 10 man front and a full band. Freeway vs streets, heck let's just say Highway vs Avenue. Maybe speedway vs track. Gravel vs dirt? Lol.

But my whole point here was that the 10 man front for a medium to large band would be ideal. In high school we marched an 8 man front in Mardi gras parades and it fit perfectly. At SU we marched a 10 man front in a Franlington parade with 4 row of T-bones (my section) up front. Was awesome. I may have took your description as shade, but I see it wasn't. My bad. Think it's safe to move on now. Happy New Year. More power to the HBCU community. Peace!

SU is the best band ever in existence. We are unique in only having one drum major-this is the tradition from day one. And actually the dance team has had larger squads in recent but in the 80s and 90s usu had no more than 5-7 on the squad per year. The team is extremely selective! There's no value in things that aren't rare.

So for school here like Morgan, Norfolk, etc. Its by section tbone, bari, mello, trpt, tuba (susa), percussion, sax CNET, then piccolo. Dont get me wrong I am not knockin it. I just literally never had that block explained to me and the only other time I can remember seeing it was as a little kid.i am used to the block I previously explained.

It’s called a party block in parade formation. Each brass instrument (except tubas) is spread out from each other (still organized in squads) so that the sound can be surround sound and not just chords coming down the street.

Nice crisp sound!!!!! Only complaint is song selection. This particular crowd is totally different from what SU is used to. I think they should have played more recognizable current mainstream songs to catch the crowds attention. Lizzo would have been a perfect selection.
