Suave Punk es el nombre bajo el que trabaja el compositor coreano-estadounidense Justin Kim, quien hasta ahora había publicado algunas canciones, desde 2020, marcadas por el dream-pop shoegaze, temas densos, distorsionados y cargados de coros oscuros, mientras las líneas de guitarra flotan en medio del caos dando sentido a esos muros de sonido. Hasta ahora lo más destacado era un EP "Heaven Is A Night Drive", que lanzó el año pasado. Podríamos decir que su música está a mitad de camino entre Cocteau Twins y My Bloody Valentine. Una propuesta interesante hasta que acaba de presentarnos "Petals" una canción pluscuamperfecta que se revela como una nueva fuerza sobrecogedora. Te aseguro que va a enamorar tus oídos. Suave punk da a un paso entre el post-punk y el shoegaze, pero con un buen acierto para la estética. Hablando de la canción, Kim dice que “nace de la lucha humana; traído por cosas que no puedes tener, gente que va y viene. A veces, pensar en ello puede enviarte en espiral, ya que cuanto más intentas aferrarte, más se desvanece de ti. Pero comprender esto es un paso en la dirección correcta; es el primer paso. Y creo que eso es esencialmente Petals: una celebración de esa realización”. Ya sabes ¿quién dijo que la vida sea sencilla? Música independiente novedades.
