That was one of the best fights so far, Shion's closing matches seem to be the most intense out the three. Shion may have won the round but in no way did Kai seem any less powerful than before, I miss the intensity Overlord brings to a cardfight.

Royal Paladin's G-Guardian seems solid, though if Kai had just a bit more retire power it wouldn't have worked as well. Still don't know if there's a Generation Break cost to use them of if discarding a heal trigger is the only cost. And it was Ratie who went to meet up with Aichi. Nice to see the Legion Mate characters still existing.

It wasn't actually just plot (the crit check probably), it is also the strat how shion fought. Filling all rearguards in third turn, G unit flip different card to wage, and unexpected calling a Sentinel on (RC). It's seldom to find a fight without winning through crit, like the fight between Ibuki and Chrono on the 1 season on G

Plus, it's unfair to call BS on shion's crits, considering kai did the EXACT same thing. Also, shion didn't even need crits. He already had 2 on clotenus and just needed ANY 2 triggers. Kai already drew 3 heal triggers on his damage check (which is already plot armour), so he wouldn't have any more to save himself. It's just a crit trigger hype.

When I see Shion episodes I can't help but feel that he could have been the MC all of G and not as many would be turned off by the series. I also don't see why so many upset that Shion won once out of countless times against Kai. I also don't really know why, but G just doesn't have the charm the OG series had. It may be becuase of the pacing and character development of G season 1 was all over the place. I am loving girs crisis though as it feels focused. More than anything I hope stride gate will continue this more focused story telling, and expand character development to the supporting cast as there is a lot to make up after G's first season. Also explain all the darn subplots!

I think I'm happy with this match cause Shion did try his best everytime to beat Kai and he finally did. I wouldn't say that Team Try3 is OP but I don't like it when people say Misaki and Kai didn't go serious with them. From my view, they are already OP when not serious cause Kai get heal or other triggers at moment. Misaki uses her skills to get triple triggers. I would just say Chrono is OP actually cause he is very rare to loose in a fight.

+SegaSonicStuff I mean Kai is supposed to be the strongest cardfighter there is, he travelled around the world multiple times to get stronger, he used at least 4 different clans etc etc. It took Aichi three seasons to defeat him and that win felt genuine because he trained and fought other really strong fighters to get there. And most important he LOST when he needed to know where his weaknesses were. This is something that just doesnt (or rarely) happens to G characters, which makes fights fake and boring.

+Superhero18 Aichi never won against Ren again after season 1. Misaki never got a chance to make up her lose to Asaka in season 2. Naoki was treated really badly in season 4 with losing almost all his fights and one of his wins was against a opponent who let him. I don't see how because Shion lost a lot against Kai before, he had to win here. The reasoning is flawed. G has destroyed all sense of balance the original series set up.

If you think about it, kai don't have heal trig for g-guard and don't have units with blaze for extra combo and barely lost because of triple trigger. Basically, they nerf him so shion can win for plot because we all know that kai is too OP

Guys.... Kai have four dmg that turn and he only have one face up card to counter blast, he pay Nouvelle skill by counter blast 1 so its 4 face down cards so there is no way for him to use Berserk skill. If you are asking about the other 3 face down its from Undeux, Berserk and Overlord skill...

To be honest, I think Shion don't even know fencing. Nobody uses a foil (the blade he's using) to cut your opponent, and he's using a grip that is banned by the FIE (English: International Fencing Federation).

I'd prefer if the other person won, but because of how even it was, the revamp of past units, and just flat out how freaking awesome the fight was, I can accept this. I still think Misaki should've won that last fight, but the main characters HAVE to progress the plot, so there was never a doubt at who's winning this. If by some Vanguard miracle Chrono loses I'll come back, change this comment, change my name to Meg, that's how surprised I'll be.

Shion doesn't really have to give the criticals to his vanguard at the final turn, kai already used 3 heals, so even without the extra criticals he could win with the 2 criticals the vanguard already has because kai only has 1 heal left, even getting a heal trigger at the first 6th damage check, he would still lose at the second 6th damage check
