Onew is on a league of his own as a vocalist. That's not an opinion, that's a fact. My dude is insanely talented. But... There's no such thing as song meant for x number of ppl. Sure someone might compose thinking of a group, but that has more to do with what will fit that group's concept and members' vocal ability, but that won't be a hindrance if a single person wants to cover it. Any song can be divided and/or rearranged, you can change key and etc. That's how kpop groups will cover songs sang by soloists, or cover songs sang by groups that have more or less members than their group.

@@helenasouza9196 this comment is absolutely right, what's astounding about his performance isn't really that more people sang the original. i would add though that something worth praising is that he took on different parts that would be hard to switch between naturally, maybe that's why it's important to mention that 5 voices sang it, because his switches were so natural. normally it's almost impossible for a few people to cover an entire group song without changing it up a bit similar to how nmixx changed parts to flow better, because of overlaps and no rest for breaths, but he did it almost effortlessly and that's so amazing to me

As a SHINee fan for over a decade, I’m really impressed by NMIXX. Their live vocals kind of remind me of the boys in their early days, especially those clips of Kyujin running while singing remind me of Jonghyun doing pushups during an encore 😂

As a vocal instructor, all vocalists here are so wonderful, this was so exciting and such a delight to watch as a fan of all! Onew's breath control as always is amazing. Fun fact- he holds the record for the longest held note in Kpop. Love watching talented and passionate people do their thing. Love them all!

As a shawol whos very picky with covers, Sullyoon and Lily were fantastic. Many idols/group dont do cover of SHINee's songs justice if im being honest. But damn Sullyons voice, I think I became a fan.

I really really loved Lily and Sullyoon's cover, it was fresh, had their identity, fantastically executed...it was such a pleasure to listen to. If i could i'd have voted for them. But wow, did Onew's singing give me goosebumps. Somehow that classic SHINee sound is timeless, and Onew singing all 5 parts is insane.

I found the NMIXX performance to be quite enjoyable, as they delivered a rendition that truly did justice to the original. However, it is undeniable that the classic voice of ONEW possesses a unique and distinctive quality that is synonymous with the SHINEE signature. Overall, it was a highly enjoyable experience.

Y'all know as soon as Onew uttered those magical words " SHINee's back" it was over for nmix! They did a great tribute to this song but Onew hands down won it with clear singing and covering all 5 member's parts perfectly with great breath control 💯 ❤

Listening to nmixx for the first time and I'm blown away. They have been 200% faithful to this cover and it shows. It's not easy to own a cover and especially a Shinee song but they've done it. And Onew is as always effortlessly evergreen❤️‍🔥

@@Bubblegumnswell do yourself a favour and go watch any Nmixx stage practice, you will see a Shinee level performance, no joke, they’re that good. I’m not big on ranking my favs, I think it’s a silly exercise, but I can tell you that in terms of abilities those girls are really something else.

@@pignonMZ6 don't get me wrong, Nmixx is amazing and they have amazing potential to get there and probably will if they keep working at it since they are still very young in the industry. But shinee is a different level. Especially Onew and Jonghyun with their ridiculous vocal ability. The girls are very good tho and I'm always happy to see how they will grow their skills. There's a handful of idols I think have the potential to get there in time and Nmixx is definitely one of them.

@@noahfan2719 It's just that the words sound the same! The word for yellowtail amberjack (bangeo), a type of fish, sounds the same as the word for a defense (bangeo). He talks about his birthday (which is December 14) because bangeo (the fish version) is known to be tastier and commonly eaten in the winter. I'm guessing Lily didn't understand because she grew up in Australia - she might have never heard about the fish. Basically... it's a really lame dad joke. 😭 Exactly the kind he loves making.

Onew just showed of what his lungs are made like steel 🤯 he did all the parts incredible great!!! Gives a personal addition that made everything fresh, is amazing that he could do it all by himself and sound everything soo powerful. I'm so proud of our leader that works hard to show how is SHINee... SHINee just can be stolen and plagiarism by SHINee 😆👏🏽 NMIXX did a great job but definitely SHINee is SHINee and their 16th years of being this incredible group it's difficult to reach Onew did great defending the King 👑.

I came for Lily & Sullyoon's cover, but I am not so biased that I will ignore talent where it's deserved. He performed excellently and deserved that win, and this is coming from an Nmixx fan. Lily & Sullyoon's cover was excellent too, but his was slightly better consider what he pulled off. Great job to both!

Their cover is excellent and as SHINee and Onew's fan I am truly happy that they cover it so good like that, it feels like my idol is being honored❤ thank you so much for amazing cover, they are sure talented 👍 what they performed here already speaks volume about their potential. I learned about new girl group from 4th gen (correct me if I'm wrong please) that are so talented through this program. They save 4th gen quality.

His shocked expression was so cute! This performance reminds me of his song Sunshine where there's no places to breathe either, but he MUST have gills to get through that song too. Nmixx's version was amazing, I wouldn't have been able to decie which was better.
