The best part for me as indication of Bi-Han's and Kuai Liang's personalities, I think, is right before they embarked to the Emperor's fort; Bi-Han outright insults Raiden and Kung Lao saying that they will only hinder the mission because they are not Lin Kuei. Kuai Liang remains cool, calm and defusing by only stating that they were trained differently, and that the mission calls for a Lin Kuei's skills.

Not exactly. Liu Kang restarted the timeline. But changed things to be different than the previous games. The Lin Kuei in his timeline begins as protectors of Earthrealm instead of the past iteration where they were mere assassins. Kuai Liang, the 2nd Sub-Zero in the past timeline-is now Scorpion, still brother to Bi Han and even the scar on his eye. The original Scorpion Hanzo, is now a young boy found by Smoke and is a student in the newly built Shirai Ryu.

In this timeline Kuai Liang is Scorpion instead of Hanzo Hasashi and Bi Han aka Sub Zero is his older brother who has betrayed everything the Lin Kuei stood for and corrupted it. Kuai Liang and Smoke broke away and they helped found the Shirai Ryu of this timeline. In the Smoke ending he finds a young starving Hanzo and they recruit him.

Kind of makes me wonder what Frost will be like in this timeline. Like kind of like many of former villains she's a good guy or girl in this timeline. Bi-Han could end up becoming Noob Sabot and this time Frost becomes the new Grandmaster and Subzero and she's the one who reconciles the difference between the Lin Kuei and the Shirai Ryu. Or, something even wilder could happen. Like a reversal of what happened to Frost in the 3d era. Only this time its Bi-Han whose sealed away in ice and ends up locked away in the Lin Kuei temple.
