Good recipe. A tip is to always soak the udad dal separately in enough water for grinding all the soaked grains. When you grind drain the water from the udad dal and reserve it. Grind the udad dal with its own soaked water. Remove the ground paste to a large utensil. Next drain the water from the soaked rice and grind the rest of the ingredients with the reserved udad dal water. After grinding add this to the udad dal paste and with your hand mix it well in a fold and lift motion. This will incorporate aeration of the batter. Leave to ferment .Try it and you will get spongy dhosa with holes texture.
