Old video but thanks so much for making it. Been having my console lights out intermittently for a long time. The dash airbag light would only come on in high humidity but it’s been nearly every day for a week. This vid made it nice and easy to take care of. Reflowed just about every joint, two visibly cracked, and added some solder to most of the joints. Thanks again for taking the time to put such an easy to follow vid together.

Well, this was much appreciated. Mine was an 09 outback and the tiny PCB had three little SMC resistors in a row. I reflowed them with a hot iron and, for now, the "airbag" light on the dash is gone. -fingers crossed.

Thanks for the video, I have an 07 outback so the board is a little different but after a close examination of the solder spots I found two cracks and was able fix, reconnected and bam! No more red airbag light. Thanks again!

Love this failure code. See it on almost every outback/legacy airbag recall I do.

this happened about 4 years ago on my 08. I did the same fix and its working fine. I learned to reflow joints from owning 4 Volvos, good cars, but nuisance electrical problems. I asked the parts guy at the dealer I use, he said they sell a lot of the boards.

BMWs are good for solder joint failures too.

mine were 80 and 90's era Volvo 240s and one 760. BMW and Volvo probably shared a lot of Bosch components.

Thanks for this. Just finished my 06 Outback. I've done my share of soldering. Mostly guitars and wiring. I was surprised how much heat it took to flow the factroy solder.

Nice video thank you! QQ - if this code is on are the passenger airbags not operable until this is fixed? Or s it just that the indicator light is not working properly?

Did the re solder resisters on circuit board. Still have the srs light on, in gauge cluster on dash. Haven't driven the car since repair. Could a drive cycle help with getting the srs light to turn off. Also can you recommend a inexpensive scanner that will read and erase srs codes on a 2007 Legacy. You have the best Subaru repair site I have ever used. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for the video. My problem is the no airbag light in the dash but passenger light not on in the overhead console. Resoldered it after your video but still no led light. Do you have any advice? 09 Outback w NAV. Edit: Mine is passenger seat belt indicator. Switchs on someone on the passenger seat. Then switchs off when passenger wear the seat belt. Also sound alert stops. I think everything is normal. Is it correct?

Does this work for the airbag light on the dash by the tach and speedo? The light above looks like just a seat belt light - 2005 Legacy Wagon - great video by the way

Just watched. Did the airbag light turn off? Not sure what you were trying to fix. My map light console seat belt light works but my airbag light in my instrument cluster still illuminates. Dealer sad it was the multi information display above the radio but not sure how to test this. The passenger air bag light and switch seems to be functioning properly so I have no idea what’s going on.

HI Just watch this video. I have a outback 1999 with airbag lamp ON. Have replaced the clock spring and drivers air bag. Have gone to auto electrician, and stated the srs module needs to be replaced. Do you know where is, and how do i fix the lamp. Its the same module as in the back ground of this video

I have a code 26. I pulled this board and reflowed the joints and added a tiny bit of solder to each. My airbag light was still on when I reconnected the battery. Is there anything I need to do to reset the light now?

So I did this on my 06 Outback. Now all the LEDs work. The Airbag light still comes on the dash unless a passenger is present. Bummer

Hi, I have 2017 forester 2.5L, having issue with SRS after recall repair done by dealer. Can you please suggest any computer that will detect SRS codes and also Transmission codes, and won't break my bank?

Does the airbag light need to be cleared after repair, or does it recognize the repaired map light ant turn off automatically.

Usually it will turn itself off.

I have a delphi clone engine,abs and gearbox are all listed and can be read but airbag is not listed

Hey, what do you look for when you have code P0457 for EVAP leak, and a new OEM gas cap does not fix it (code sets again short time after clearing)? This is on 04 Forester NA

Yes. Most handheld scan tools won't give airbag or ABS codes/info.
