Mac and matco bolt and fastener extractors were the best investments I have bought rust makes doing suspension and under the truck work impossible to do without air chisel's, sledge hammers, big pry bars, extractors, etc... I have rounded out bolts and snapped bolts on my 08 super duty 4x4 truck on replacing suspension components and those tools are a huge investment and a excellent choice I made because i service my own truck when I don't have the funds to pay a shop.

I usually let the engine come off the first high idle, typically about a minute or so. Then I let it roll out the driveway and mostly idle down the quiet dead-end street I am on. I have a ScanGauge III display with coolant, oil and CVT fluid temps, once the oil temp hits about 90-100 I start accelerating normally. I don't beat on the poor thing until oil and CVT temps are at normal operating range lol.

Your paying for the life time warrant. I purposely welded a socket to a button pull it off I returned the hole set no questions asked. That's it the life time warranty is the reason it's a better buy

Which aftermarket TPMS sensor brand/manufacturer would you recommend for Subies as a replacement of the original sensor? Thanks.
@mmix2243 сағат бұрын
I used to manage a tire and suspension shop before I changed jobs and became a tech myself where I work now for an online car seller. I have been VERY disappointed in Autel sensors. They lasted only about 2 years on my wife's car. My preferred sensor brand is Schrader EZ. They actually make a lot of the OE sensors for some of the manufacturers.
@corey_low_life3 сағат бұрын
I've used multiple different brands over the past 5 years. My favorite are the MAX Select Pro TPMS. I use roughly 12 new sensors per week. I've only replaced 3-5 MAX sensors over that time frame from failing prematurely.
@chandlerbraaten847Сағат бұрын
@@corey_low_life ill second this. The max select pro sensors are compatible with just about every tool and they program and learn super fast.

I have always thought part of the major issue of oil consumption has been the use of the 0W20 oil, among other issues. I believe it's the mileage mandates here in the USA and Subaru's attempt at pulling all the stops to maximize fuel mileage. The reason no other oil option is given in the owners manual is to "guarantee" the mileage and has more to do with satisfying the Feds than any owner choices. The only time I experience what I consider excessive oil consumption has been on long road trips with consistent high speed driving. Short term and local driving seems to be okay as far as oil consumption, although my '12 Foz still uses more oil than my '98 GMC pickup. I have heard the use of higher viscosity oil will cause issues with the variable valve timing as it is controlled hydraulically via the engine oil. I have to laugh at the reason you chose to use the 5W30 ...very scientific! I am about to do an oil change and I will be using 5W30. I figure if MrSubaru's justification is good enough for him, it's good enough for me. Cheers!

As someone who has a Kwik Lift this is going to come in handy. I’ve looked into air powered bottle jacks but none are low enough to get under the lift point. I had to weld an extra section of jack handle to be able to get a normal 3 ton hf jack under it and have enough throw to actually jack the lift up. If that make an adapter to fit other common batteries like a Milwaukee I’d be 100% sold. Last time I checked there site wasn’t even up yet.

Given that Subaru says don’t change cvt fluid, will Subaru dealers change the fluid if I request it? I own two Subarus, 2023 Ascent and 2017 ( 101,000 miles)Legacy. I will be requesting changing the fluid in 2017 Legacy at my next motor oil change. I love both of these cars. Great video. Keep up the good work!😊

Subaru replaced my cvt at 77k. Now at 155k, noticed a shuddering at 20-25mph, but not real consistent. Runs great at higher mph. Local repair shop is telling me its the cvt. Not sure what direction to go. Could it be non cvt related problems?

Absolutly love the concept, and the application seems well designed. BUT, then theres the key🤨🤨, come on now, a plastic key!! All the $$spent on this design, then you give a plastic key. Looks like a fail on the key.
@BrewBry2 сағат бұрын
It’s just a pin release. You can use anything to release the anvil from a toothpick to a pocket screwdriver. The plastic ring on the front is more of a dust booth that rotates around to keep the 1/8 hole clear.

1. I wish a Tacoma had AWD. 2. We need a turbo FXT forester again. 3. Subaru needs to make exciting vehicles again with more than 170hp. 4. Bring back the damn gas powered STI that can run 87, not just 93/91oct.

I paid $10,000 under MSRP for a 2024 Rav4 Prime ($6,500 credit on lease, $3,500 from dealer and then bought out of lease immediately). Try finding a deal like that on a Subaru. I average 65 miles per gallon over 8,000 miles on the Rav4 Prime in mixed City/Hwy driving around New England (live in Boston metro, drive up to VT and NH all the time). I averaged 25 mpgs with a 2023 Outback non-turbo doing the same thing (40 MPG difference!!). I have owned six Subarus including a 2023 Outback and would say Subaru AWD is superior, but the engine/transmission combo in Toyota (especially the hybrids/PHEVs) just works better in City driving hands down. CVT on Subaru is groany and that delay when you shift into drive on the Subaru CVTs just doesn't seem to go away no matter what Subaru you choose (Legacy, 2 Ascents and Outback). And fit and finish of the car is somewhat subjective but the tech in Toyotas just plain works better than the Subaru. Heat pump in the Toyota is amazing in that it really works and allows Prime to keep engine off in cold and hot weather. The fact that you can't turn the Auto start/stop off on the Subarus and have it stay off is SUPER annoying if you are doing a lot of short drives like I do.
