I've seen it all now not only are they stuck with just one wheel spinning, the engine is reving it's pods off and no wheels are turning just brilliant what a joke system,i think a trip down the smooth road is a nuf for a modern gimmick AWD Subaru.

If you're after getting a fight, then you in a wrong channel. Forester is not a tough 4x4, true. But nevertheless it made the climb, and also is able to get practically to any place where the big boys go. Not always the same way, sometimes with additional structure works, but the same place. If you want a jeep that climbs a wall it's your right. I want a vehicle that allow me to get to any place in a country, without too much extreme, and without the Rubicon expenses

I've had and ran and worked on Subaru cars for 35+years and I've seen a big downward slope of this manufacturer in the 35+ years of owning them,I am not here for a argument about them, all I will say is from start the car's were more capable then back in 1980 then they are now, the new Subaru's today are less capable of off road, less capable of hard conditions, much softer, liter running gear,I could go on ,I build engines I see design faults, decline in quality, this company is not going forward it's standing still fixing things that aren't broken ,they are not there own car anymore they just run with everyone's ideas,in 40 years the car's don't do anything more than they could 40 years ago.

That's a good rant, but altogether let's face it - there's no other vehicle in this group that is better than SJ. There simply no other softroader that is as able, except Dacia Duster. But that's another whole story, and it's a very simplistic car with manual gear, that is not built to last. Besides, what you said is valid for ALL modern car industry. cars became more gentle, more technology inside, more things to break. This forester is the last simple vehicle that allows you to get outside and just go, without high price tag. And it's pretty easy to work on, and all its weak spots are known, and there are lots of available upgrades. What's not to like?
