You didn"t seem to catch the fact that the Witch of Envy was literally possessing Emilia's body and that was why Subaru freaked out. Even after his return by death, he was shaking with fear because of Emilia. Also, Ryuzu calling Subaru an Apostle of Greed just means he has the qualifications given by Echidna (the Witch of Greed) to do the trials.

Love it when Subaru had badass moments like the I know hell scene. 27:45 basically what happened here: In every reset, Garf has been suspicious of Subaru but has also had a "wait and see" approach to see if Subaru does anything suspicious. This time, Subaru wasn't suspicious...at first. Then, all of a sudden, Subaru was sneaking out of the Sanctuary without telling anyone, which is incredibly suspicious. So, right now, he came to confront Subaru and to tell him off, then Subaru made Garf think this whole "sneaking around" was just a way to test him and to force Garf to react. Like...imagine if all of a sudden one of your friends started acting suspicious around you and when you went to confront them about it they laughed and said "Haha, it's so funny watching you react that way."

Satella likely appeared because Subaru was at the Tea Party. After rabbit restart, Emilia was on ground. Then he went to teaparty for quite a while. He comes back from tea party and Emilia is gone and Satella has appeared. The only variance is what happened at the tea party or maybe because Emilia woke up first or maybe because Subaru never woke her up out of the trial. He restarts again and Emilia is still on ground like every restart. I don't think he was telling Satella he'd save her. She either looked so much like Emilia or was possessing Emilia (remember that's the goal of Witch's Cult) and Subaru was speaking to Emilia, figuratively or literally. It also explains why he was so hesitant to reach out to Emilia after restarting because he was struggling to separate Emilia from Satella. I think the "meeting with his lover behind his back" is more likely a turn of phrase than literal. She's teasing Subaru for being so secretive. The secrecy is like that of an affair.

And since the anime won't talk about it again it's better to leave him with the overwhelming consensus on why that "randomly" happened that loop. About Garfiel, there IS a pattern to him. As unpredictable as he is, he is never hostile from the get go (when Subaru comes out of the graveyard with Emilia) things only get RNG'd after their meeting inside the house. Make of that what you will.

Can we just point out how freaking beautiful Emilia's action are from her perspective? Subaru has been through a lot since he first fought with Emilia at the capital in S1; The White Wale fight, The Witch Cult, The bomb that was in the carriage, and the recent lost of Rem, which seems to be a really dear person to him. later on he enters the trial because he is concerned about Emilia safety and see's that she has fainted, so out of worry he starts crying, Emilia just wakes up after whatever she has seen and decides to just leave it all aside to comfort Subaru. Truly one of the reason why i love Emilia as a character so much

I think the "date" thing is supposed to be pretty innocent - like going out for lunch, to a movie, an amusement park, bowling, or whatever: the kind of thing you'd do with your own kid/niece/nephew. In Subaru's case, it's more like a teenager hanging out with his little sister. The fact that she's both not related to him and has an obvious crush could open a debate as to whether or not that counts as grooming, but I think it comes down to intent, and in Subaru's case it's clear he's just humouring the kid and wouldn't actually do anything inappropriate.

I guess you missed one point In s2 ep 7 ,subaru actually met "RYUZU SHIMA" . But in this episode subaru meets RYUZU BLIMA . Also rezero S2 has a lot of important cut content The main cut content is RYUZU SHIMA mentioned she is one of the FIVE copies of ryuzu Meyer. And the first copy is an incomplete copy/replica of ryuzu Meyer and escaped from the sanctuary. Also another important thing is that incomplete copy makes the important role in one big event which happened few decades back from main story.

Yup, Ryuzu Shima(Cima?) is the one that got possessed by the tea party Echidna and is now calling herself Omega. The Ryuzu leading the army of the dead would be Sphinx, the first failed clone. Echidna failed to dispose of her properly, so she escaped and went on to play a key role in the demi-human war before Leip Barielle faked her death and took her home with him. She was being held captive in Barielle territory up until arc 7/8. @@Being_alive_lol

Garf is really consistent when you pay attention to the reasoning giving a couple of episodes back (though it was a blink and you'll miss it moment).... Garfiel can see/feel/smell the miasma (or witch's scent)... when subaru just came for the first time the smell was not that prominent... so garfiel spoke normally to him and asked him to take on the trial and gave subaru the crystal before going to frederica... Second time around subaru smelled faintly of the witch so garfiel was wary though not worried... but he did not feel like going out of his way to help him either... Ram had to ask for the cristal instead nad he reluctantly gave it to them... third time around garfiel distrusted subaru quite a bit so that is when he attacked subaru... this time around the witch or something really dangerous is going on all around so who cares about subaru's smell???? not garfiel that is who...

The reason why you was confused is mainly because of how the source material was adapted. They cut a lot of Subaru's internal monologues that would help you to understand many things. Be it the reason why he said "I will save you" to Satella, be it the conforntation scene with Garf and the possible reason of Garfiel acting different every single loop, etc.

After talking so openly about RBD, Echidna knew that the Witch of Envy was going to be less than pleased. The Witch can't stop Subaru from talking in the dream world, so she threw a bit of a tantrum and killed everyone in Sanctuary. Echidna, knowing this would happen, placed a spell on Petra's handkerchief to turn it into a weapon Subaru could use to kill himself after getting trapped in the shadows. Emilia's body was being possessed by the Witch in that loop(which is why she wasn't in the tomb with Subaru). Remember that the Witch herself is still trapped in her seal, so she can't make physical appearances just yet. That's likely why Subaru said he'd save her. Worth noting that Subaru's mentality is beginning to change. He's become much more willing to use his own life as a tool.

Agreed. He saw the face of Emilia and then said the line. I think it's further proven by what he said in the first episode of S1. When he gets killed for the first time, he holds Emilia's hand and tells her, "I'm gonna save you." Throwback to that.

He is literally meant to be confusing, he has no pattern unlike everyone else, the slight changes (and more so the increase in the witch’s sent) make him change what he does every single time. This is not entirely true His whole behaviour depends on the witch's miasma that Subaru has. The thing is, he cant actually smell it, but Ryuzu can. Every time Garfiel acted hostile towards Subaru was immediately after he spent some time with Ryuzu off-screen. And of course, Subaru completing his trial ticks his nerves too. Thats why in this loop Garfiel was exceptionally kind to Subaru. Not only he did not know about the miasma, since he did not speak with Ryuzu yet, but Subaru also cried in the tomb, which implies that he failed the trial, just like Garfiel back in the day.

Garfiel's behavior is confusing, and it is normal for viewers to judge him as chaotic, but there is a pattern to it. For instance, in the end of last episode and the start of this episode, Garfiel is trying to help Subaru because he's decided that Satella is a greater threat than Subaru. It does not help that Garfiel uses weird idioms that the viewers and Subaru do not understand.

This Time he just woke up regularly with no Time passed after the first Trial. _Emilia's Reaction_ I do love to see how much stronger Emilia is when she's caring for someone else. Like Subaru, she easily forgets about her own Worries when someone else needs Help, which is a Strength of her and really wholesome. But what Subaru was referring to was that Echidna meddled with his Hankerchief to give him an Option to kill himself once taken in by Satella. That was an oddly specific Preparation, so Subaru suspects that Echidna expected Satella to show up and Subaru needing a Way to die (since as he said, otherwise he'd be trapped there forever). _"Pinch Hitter"_ Simply reacting to Emilia's Comment about needing Pack, when Subaru is right there. He wants to be depended on and help Emilia, yet she yearns for Pack's Support, so Subaru feels like a Substitute Player.

"Pinch hitter" is a baseball term. I know basically nothing about sports, but the term comes up a lot in anime (baseball is big in Japan) and as I understand it, it's a hitter you send in late in the game when you need someone to hit the ball real good. You're losing, or the score is neck and neck, and you need a "pinch hitter" to turn things around. They're someone you send in when the situation is bad and you need to be bailed out. Subaru is saying that since Puck is missing, it's up to him to help Emelia.

FYI, if you ever want more context and world building, I highly recommend either watching cut content videos of re:zero or reading the summary of cut content on witch cult translations. The anime is an extremely good adaptation and focused a lot on the characters which is the most important aspect of re:zero, but there is still a lot of subtle changes to how the scenarios play out. Most importantly a lot of lore and world building has to be cut to fit within the time constraints. Now I say all this but I haven’t even read all the web novel so it may not be my place to talk lol

The most widely accept theory in the fan base is that Emilia at the end of the story becomes the witch. That everything is basically a big loop. The idea is that Subara at the end sacrifices himself to save everyone and free the witch by killing her allowing her to rest. Emilia whose feelings for him have grown over the story cannot accept it and in one way or another she absorbs the witch factor and becomes the witch. Witch her new power she wants to reverse time and save Subaru, but she isn't compatible with the power so she breaks and ends up further back than planned. This sets the events in motion that we hear of in the story, but happened before the main plot, thus creating the circle in which Subaru always sacrifices himself for her.

These rankings are all wrong, I really like the other isekais, but in my opinion none of them compare to Re:Zero

Once every other day for season 1 with double episodes was a lot, but once every 3 days single episodes is really too spread out for Re:zero. Season 2 involves LOTS of looping the same event since there is so many variables, and how and why variables change might be referencing something not talked about in 2-3 loops. Some stuff like why the Witch was waiting for him in the real world is understandable confusion because it isn't super explained and requires deep attention to theory out (just because he could tell Echidna all about Return By Death doesn't mean the Witch of Envy couldn't hear him and wasn't mega pissed with him defying her restriction many times). Some stuff like the many hints about the main Ryuzus being different people with different last names despite looking similar is semi-confusing if you are watching slowly, because you have to pay attention to it and keep track of the very different relationships Subaru has had with different ones. At the very least it should be on your radar though and I don't hear you talk about it. But other stuff like how Garfield works really shouldn't be confusing by this point. It is one of the most referenced things in the loops. Even Subaru has worked it out enough to explicitly call Garfield solved to his face, so I think its a sign there is too big a delay between episodes for you lol. To be clear, every-time Subaru restarts he has ever more Witch miasma. Garfield, as significantly non-human, can smell this. Garfield is always neutral until their first meeting together inside, which is the first time they are all in an enclosed space for a longer period of time, at which point he becomes more suspicious of Subaru every subsequent restart from this point. But if Subaru can avoid being together in close proximity for long enough for it to dwell on Garfields mind (before their first one-on-one chat), not be perceived as manipulative, and not want to do something that puts him in an important position in the Sanctuary (which Garfield is defending) then Garfield is actually a nice albeit stubborn individual, who can be persuaded to let Subaru do his own thing.

Basically garfiel thinks that subaru is a witch cultist beacuse he can smell the witch miasma like rem. He is very watchful of subaru at all times and he is trying to make subaru slip that he is a witch cultist even though he is not. Everytime he comes back the witch miasma becomes stronger and garfiel can smell the witch scent to add that at the top of the list makes, subaru a candidate to becoming a witch cultist for him.

It may not have been obvious with all the darkness, but Satela looks identical to Emilia. That's why Subaru was literally afraid of Emilia when he saw her in the new loop. Because she looks so much like the witch of envy. Quite creepy...because this is how EVERYONE treats her, simply because of her appearance. It's not hard to understand why Subaru was so upset...he's upset that he's afraid of her even though he loves her. As for the handkerchief...I don't think Echidna foresaw the future or anything like that. Most likely...she simply felt Satela's presence on the threshold of her grave. And Echidna probably thought logically, “oh, you definitely won’t get out of this loop... well, perhaps I’ll give you a weapon to kill yourself.” That's how I see it.

The anime's doing it differently then the manga. The Witch of Envy "reveal" where he says he'll save her is really different and in this comes across and less emotional and moving then it was in the manga (and potentially even less so in the Light Novel). It's clear they are doing the order of events cut up into different episodes which is strange considering but once everything's revealed I'll explain the differences.

This episodes had many lines and moments that are really confusing and hard to get and that will continue to the end of this season !!.
