This is probably the clearest, most accurate and useful car repair video I have ever watched. I just changed my two brake light bulbs in about 15 minutes!

It's 2023 and it's the first time I've had to replace a bulb on our 2013 Outback. 10 years, so not bad! Thank you for the vid, you just saved us a few hundred dollars at the shop 😀. The key was being shown how to pop off the light cover, I never would have had the guts to try that myself without being shown first. I would have tried prying the thing straight out and ended up breaking all the clips.

Thanks a million dude! Way easier than the headlights. In fact, whoever approved the headlight design should be fired!!!!!

Great video! the 10mm socket wrench tip made it a smooth replacement when the phillips' failed to loosen the machined in screw! First time replacement of the brake lights after 11 years, 92K miles!! Thanks!

Because I'm so OCD, yours is the third video I watched on how to install new brake lights on my Outback. Yours is definitely the best. Cheers.

This video was perfect. To the point and exactly what I needed to know to get the job done. I often come across videos to instruct me in this or that that are easily twice as long as needed and for whatever reason that gets on my nerves. So thank you for making the perfect video!

Sometimes the light may not be actually burned out. The electrical connections may just become oxidized. I have applied some electrical connection antioxidant paste (just a very small dab) on the bulb terminals of both of my rear turn signal bulbs and restored their function.

Excellent video. Thank you! The only thing I would add is that the reason you handle the new bulb with gloves is that you do not want to get any oil from your skin or other grease on the bulb as it can cause it to heat up and crack or otherwise fail prematurely.

Thank you so much!!! My right light went out so I replaced both of them. It took me less then 10 minutes. I put in LED"S which I hope will last longer. I really liked how you demonstrated hitting the light just right, worked great for me!

What is it with Subarus and light bulbs? In less than 2 years of owning an Outback I've replaced 4 bulbs. I also like to spray rust inhibitor into the car any time I have trim pieces removed.
@JM-io4vb4 жыл бұрын
I've had the same experience - multiple light bulbs needing replacement in the first few years of ownership. I started to think that maybe the dealership where I get my car serviced was being dishonest, but I guess this is a problem with Subarus.

Thank you for your video!‼️My 13 outback also eats bulbs like crazy! Worse than any other car I’ve ever owned. Anybody have any ideas why this❓😳
@Kingomegared2 жыл бұрын
Just leave all the screws out for when you have to replace them again in a week. I dunno what it is with Subaru, they make a great car but have no idea about how to produce a competent electrical system.
@corevette9 ай бұрын
Bingo. I totally agree‼️

Dielectric grease on the contact points and not touching the bulb with your hands ( wearing gloves or use paper towel will prolong bulb life.
