Parts of that snow and ice covered road looks like our private road and driveway before we had it chip sealed. We drove it every day either in our 19 Outback in single X mode or engaging or 11 Rav 4WD. It’s much easier now, but we still have to plow the 5-6 feet of snow every winter

Thank you for sharing. Your drone work was amazing!! Subaru should be using your footage in their commercials (if they aren't already...?). We are supposed to pick up our 2024 Outback Wilderness next week, and can't wait. Planning a Rocky Mountain excursion for next summer (CO, WY, MT) and would welcome any trail suggestions (easy, scenic, and NO ledges 😵💫ha). I've backpacked out there quite a bit, but haven't really done any forest roads, etc. in a vehicle yet.

Thank you! I would get On X off-road to help with the trail decisions. Trails are definitely interpreted differently by each person. It's a great tool to build and plan a trip with pretty accurate information. Not sponsored by them, but I use their app regularly. Congrats on the OBW!

@@roamingwithjosh your adventures are inspiring me to do more. We moved to the mountains of Western North Carolina for a big lifestyle change filled with adventures. We have done a lot in the year 1/2 being here but have been limited by our vehicles not by our desire and initiative. We are finally in a position to purchase the vehicle suited for our sense of exploration. Been considering the Tacoma 4x4 Off-road due to it’s amazing capabilities but it’s comfort and gas mileage is certainly suspect. We are not “rock crawlers” but would like to explore the road less traveled. After watching your videos the OBW is climbing the ranks of possibilities… What was your average mpg when off-roading like in this video. Symmetrical AWD requires all wheels be Symmetrical. So pretty sure differential tire pressures puts undue stress on the CVT!

Those are some REALLY tucked rocksliders. Why did you choose those vs. RalliTek sliders or the like that give you some kick out options? Did you opt for the $500 rear locker? Any aftermarket underbody armor? Seems like it has a 3" lift but I'm not an expert here. I bought the exact one as yours, it appears, very recently. I have a 2022 Power Wagon that' fully trucked out with all Carli King suspension and radius arms running on 37's. It's a completely different experience as I'm sure you know.
