The Forester looks like an Explorer and the Outback looks like a Trailblazer. I really don’t like the direction that Subaru is going with their design language, but that being said I’m not in the market for one so my thoughts don’t matter. It does feel like they are trend chasing rather than being true to what a Subaru is.

Ya Subaru is just shooting themselves in the foot with terrible designs. Good ideas just to similar and nothing that stands out.

I genuinely hate this entire design generation. Outside of the BRZ, I'm not a fan of a single one of them. And that's very disappointing, because I've always liked the design of Subarus.

Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. Definitely hoping that we get something that we can get excited about here soon. Stay Tuned!

I remember test driving a brand new 2011 WRX STI with auto trans. Drove different from the 6 speed for sure.

Thanks for watching. I bet it was different for sure. I'd assume that the STI A-Line would be a heck of a commuter. Stay Tuned!

Since Subaru appears to be combining three vehicles into one, I'm going to call them all the same name by combining their names using the first syllable from each: Ascent, Outback, Forrester; in that order.

Some guy built a turbo Crosstrek with a 6 speed in his garage, it looks amazing and he said it's pretty quick. I saw it at Wicked Big Meet a couple years ago.

That would be a lot of fun for sure. That would be the perfect Crosstrek I'd say. Thanks for watching and Stay Tuned!

Why are you guys so gentle on the opinions of it. It's okay to say it SUCKS. Please tell Subaru that its enthusiasts want more than 300hp. Everything else makes so much more.
@QuintonLeister6 күн бұрын
Probably because these guys are considering the perspective of STI and customers in Japan, who the S210 is made for. Japanese aren't obsessed with power like North Americans. This is not another WRX STI model the way you're probably thinking it is, but you would know that if you watched the video. Subaru is smart enough to know their demographic in North America wants manual transmission and 300+ horsepower. Furthermore, the GR Corolla, Golf R and other competitors all make around 300hp. I consider myself a WRX STI enthusiast and 300hp is more than enough for back roads where this car shines.

Bro, I love this content. You are the only channel that has anything remotely positive for the Automatic transmission from Subaru. My WRX GT is hated on by all Subaru enthusiasts at a quite alarming number. I would like to say I love the thing and would like to modify it slightly to gain more power in the future. Would love for you guys to go a bit into tuning the WRXs FA24 versus EJ engines of old, as well as transmission swapping. And yes please please pleassseeee include swapping transmissions for Automatics if at all possible, same for going to DCCD STI transmission from SPT platform which no one ever ever speaks about. Sorry for the extra emphatics, lol.

Thanks for watching and glad to hear that you are enjoying the videos. I am definitely curious about the SPT transmission in the WRX. At some point, if we can get our hands on one, we will have to do some testing, etc. The issue with changing to a manual transmission in the newer CVT/SPT cars is that the transmission is so tied in with the CAN-Bus that it pretty much has to be there for everything to work. But who knows, someday there may be a solution for this. Stay Tuned!

The Subaru CVT is probably one of the more reliable ones out there. They also have a quicker 0 to 60 times compared to manual.
@FlatironsTuning17 сағат бұрын
Yep. The ability to keep the turbo spooled up really helps with acceleration. It would be fantastic if Subaru has found a way to make the "SPT" more reliable even with increased power. We'll have to see. Stay Tuned!

Maybe with trump firing everyone in EPA, we can get another STI before the end of his presidential term...

I have an 06 STI that I will never get rid of (because nothing like it will exist again). However, I daily a 19 Tacoma TRD Off Road that I would happily trade in if Subaru released a Baja Wilderness with a 2.5 turbo.

These vehicles looks like crap. If I wanted a generic bloated box I could get that anywhere. Looks like I'll be waiting another 4yrs before caring about Subaru does.

Everyone hates CVT because they were told to. CVTs as a technology was so good in F1 it was banned. Telling an enthusiast that a CVT will keep your engine in its optimal powerband at all times isn't as sexy as a 400hp dyno chart with a power band from 4500 to 6500. If Subaru could get these CVTs to hold power equivalent to the 6spd. It would drastically change opinions in the tuning community.
@emhmeh7 күн бұрын
In my experience, people who hate CVTs hate the "slipping" feeling when accelerating hard, because for most people that genuinely is an unpleasant experience, not because anyone told them to hate the technology. It doesn't matter if there's fairy dust, belts, or gears making it work, it just feels "wrong". Some CVTs (including subaru) get around this by simulating gears in certain modes... which defeats the whole point of having a CVT in the first place. Also, the fact that CVTs were banned from F1 is cool, but it doesn't mean much when talking about enthusiast road cars. F1 is all about going as fast as possible, as efficiently as possible. Driver enjoyment or excitement is not a consideration in that context. Enthusiast sports cars should be mostly about driver enjoyment and excitement, not much else.
@Align700nitro7 күн бұрын
I don't hate CVT, I just don't need it in a car that I enjoy shifting my own gear. there's a lot of car with CVT goes faster, there is no reason to buy a subaru if they offer CVT only. Side note, do you really think people who buys S-series car has only one car?
