I buy cars because I enjoy driving them and I couldn't care less what other buyers do. I enjoy the rumble and the feeling that the car gives you in return while you drive it. It is my daily. Although the EVO might be faster and better on a track, the driving that I do is so special in the STI that I would never change it nor just for an EVO, that Mitsu already put to rest, but neither for the numb Type-R or the discontinued Focus RS or the quality interior Golf R. My STI has the unique 𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 boxer engine sound, manual transmission, best all-wheel-drive systems available in the class, hydraulic steering, Brembo brakes, great suspension, enough quality interior, a good enough price that makes me feel so happy to own it.

Honestly I driven both evo and sti you can't go wrong with either one they both fast and fun as for which one is "better" that just comes down to personal preference

Just because someone vapes, that doesn't mean anything. I owned a 700hp turbo s2000 at one point, and vaped. I keep to myself. I don't even go to meets. don't blanket with that. I also used to run a business within that industry, so I'm accustomed to not rubbing it in people's faces, talking about it all the time, etc. I don't really care. like I said, I keep to myself in that aspect. it's people like you that are spreading the negative stereotypes by reinforcing it like that. brought that on yourself. I told myself I'd never own a Subaru. I bought a 03 forester as a daily. fell in love with it. ended up with an 04 wrx. Can't complain with it. it's bone stock. absolutely nothing done. will I be working on it? yes. do I shove my personal interests down people's throat? no.

+Taylor Meeker Thanks for watching man! You make very valid points. At this point I think I may have to go back and revisit this topic. Most of the people that annoy me are probably in their early 20s. Its these younger guys/gals that give a negative image to the rest.

Same as Taylor, I plan to keep my STI stock for a long time and it's not just because I wish I didn't have to keep it stock out of ringland fear. And btw Taylor, when you say bone stock, does it mean zero issues throughout the car's life? If yes, that's reassuringly awesome! In my opinion, modifying should be more purposeful rather than statement or credit conscious as the rest of the crowd. I can relate to Dream Big, however, about how much of these factors have affected the vape/Subibro stigma. I guess to have a car such as but not just the STI entails a responsibility to promote a more mature community by how you use it on the streets. That bit about your race challenge with the toddler in the backseat was scary.

I live in Washington state also! I agreed there are a ton of wrx and also Hondas here. But in the Midwest there aren't near as many.

Yeah I'm looking for a car and the big 3 I'm contemplating are an Evo X, Type R (I've wanted one since I was 15) and an STI (the ringland issue is honestly terrifying to me). Since looking at the STI more I've noticed a shit ton of them in WA, I myself drive a 2016 Forester XT Touring and I see them everywhere now lol. WA is totally Subaru country.

Reliability issues and responds poorly to mods is why I got rid of my wrx. I love to pick up a STI but I’m not gonna spend $4 grand for a new engine or rebuild one after 50k miles.
@Terminator40006 жыл бұрын
Kamaro3XVII responds poorly to mods because you didnt mod it properly. Trying to attain boost off a stock engine (especially in a subaru) in most manufactured cars is not going to make a reliable car. Dude your comment is quite dull.
@RafaelRamirez-pw5bf7 жыл бұрын
Dont know if you mentioned it but the amount of hp you gain from mods on sti's is sad it takes so much money to have a fast Subaru not to mention it jus adds on to the ring problem 🤦🏽♂️ you literately have to be built to even get decent numbers from what ive seen
@williamsportwrestler7 жыл бұрын
Great point, I should have brought that up as well. It costs about half as much to build a 600HP Evo as it does to build a 600hp STI. Maybe I'll use that point in a later video. Thanks for watching!

Dream Big Love the vids man own a Evo 9 my self SSL Package.. Your evo caught my attention what cams you running ?
@williamsportwrestler7 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure which cams are in it. I bought this car in December on a very quick sale. I haven't pulled the valve-cover off yet when I do I will see if there are any markings on the cams and I'll let you know.

good video bro this was great editing was amazing put together really well. you were spot on with the Subaru engine i know so many people who waste there money on these car. Looks there on point engine fail. NOTING BEATS A 4G63 in my book i have owned a EVO and lots of TSI AWD. still have a few. Spent my 20s racing only with a 4g63 loved it got burnt out on it. took the dd aka tib and started back at it.

I think the engine format is the biggest drawback for me. Working on a flat 4/6 ect is hard enough on that tiny engine bay, let alone a turbocharged rendition. What if you need to replace a head gasket? What if you want to install aftermarket camshafts/valvesprings? Simple mods on a i4/i6 engine but it almost always requires the entire engine to be removed on boxers. The skill level required to properly and safely modify this style of engine is far too high for the average weekend tuner.
@williamsportwrestler7 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. I was going to say something about the head-gaskets but for the sake of keeping the video a reasonable length, I decided to leave them out. It's definitely an advanced level car to work on and an expensive one too mod. Thanks for watching!
