for a vehicle with standard street tires, this is very impressive. I have taken my Liberty off road in similar conditions and barely made it, so I can appreciate how effective the subaru awd is coupled with someone who knows how to drive the vehicle. nice job.

Very nice. I had to watch your video to see it doing some actual off-roading since 90% of the "reviewers" on youtube just like to complain and talk about it while cruising around in fire trail dirt paths.

Impressive with the MT. The gearing in the MT has always been a tad too tall for technical stuff like that in prior models. Were you doing lots of clutch slipping? No audio makes it hard to judge. Any experience with the 2L Diesel MT? I wonder about the lower speed technical terrain use given the new Diesels all seem to lack any power till you have them wound up a bit then the torque comes on big. Making this type of climb really tough with the diesel?

Nice driving.I have the same with 1.6 engine MT and dual range which gives you much more control .

Cuando tengas una condicion de bastante dificultad es necesario quitarle el VDC para que tengas un control y traccion integral permanente que permita que el auto tenga mas fuerza.

i went to a ski center here in pucon,chile for doing some snowboarding with some friend in one xv, it was horrible!! that car's not made for off road,only for city, we almost broke the direcction and the suspension and the road wasn't so bad

I'd be worried about bottoming out in a place like that. It would be much better with a bit more lift and meatier tires. I've been eyeballing the XV Crosstrek to replace my Silverado. Great driving!

just keep in mind it has no power, and on the highway at 65mph your past 3,500rpm

@lifeisgood1234110 жыл бұрын
@CammieGee it all depends on how much off road you do and how much you are willing to pay for gas the jeep by far is the better off roader but gets around 20 mpg hwy. The Subaru is much mote practical cheaper not as good off road but unbeatable when it comes to cars and gets around 30 mpg hwy. If you are heavy off roader go jeep anything else Subaru has you

looks like traction control is gripping spinning wheels.. so is it true that TCS is working even when VDC is off? I heard two different stories and don't know what's true..
@DaveXL4959 жыл бұрын
VDC off simply stops the traction control from being able to cut throttle. The car will continue to manage traction with ABS input and the ABS and ESP systems are still active. Source: lots of messing around in mud/grass/sand with my 2010 Impreza The only way to turn everything off is to pull the ABS fuse from the fusebox in the engine bay (there's a handy little fuse puller included for that job ^^). But that would seriously hinder your offroad ability as modern Subarus don't have real difflocks and need all the electronic assistance they can get.
@spiff739 жыл бұрын
David Liu thank you! a month ago, i was driving my outback in sandy wash, i also noticed that abs is working(flashing vdc light) when wheel slip occurs (while vdc was off)
@Akramsh8 жыл бұрын
Moonsung Lee You cannot simply turn off VDC. The button on the left is for Traction Control ONLY.
@spiff738 жыл бұрын
Akram sh yes yes, i meant the button was off not the whole vdc system. :)
