My 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek

Just bought one. In Australia its just called XV. I have top version XV S. Brings silver roof racks, sunroof,touch screen, sat nav, heated front seats, electric drivers seat, chrome trim on door handles and blinkers on door mirrors. More than enough power round the City and good economy. The front seats are really great and reversing camera works well. Overall? I love it.

We just got our XV on 2/15, but haven't gotten it muddy - yet! It's our 5th Subie, so I know quite well how awesome they are. Almost wish I still lived in New Hampshire just so I could have some real snow to run in. Also, I really like the sport grill and the rear spoiler on yours. The dealer we got ours from has those on order for us - as well as deflectors for the side windows.... Nice vid.

Great Video. Indeed first video in some decent offroad scenery. Just traded my 2006 Outback 2.5 XT for a dark gray XV Crosstrek Limited. Love it !! Drive is very solid and the mileage is >50% better than the outback: ~ 31 avg mpg. The OB XT did 19-20 avg mpg. Do not miss the turbo power. This car is lighter and has enough pep. Great commuter. Our other car is a 2013 OB 3.6 limited. This XV is its smaller brother and I think it will be here for a long time. LOVE it !!

I think it is fine, I traded a turbo charged Forester for this and have been pleased. Some days I wish it was a more powerful motor on the road, off the road it does awesome. Overall I am pleased and would recommend it to anyone.

I have the CVT, never had a problem. I like the CVT much better than the 4-speed auto that used to be in the Impreza & Forester.

Good Video, Thanks. Just ordered a 2014, but opted for the Manual as I had a CVT outback and didn't like it much...see how it goes. I reckon my old 92 Liberty Manual Dual Range would have done all that but using a lot more fuel. I'm getting on but haven't lost my 'fun driving' passion - This will be Subaru number 8 for me.

Mine has the sport mesh grill, that is why. You can interchange between the sport mesh and stock grill very easily.

Craig if what you say is true that vehicle will be a 2015 at the earliest. We will all have a heck of a good time with the first gen and can trade at that time if we so choose. No big deal.

I don't have problems with CVT in my outback. Plenty of power and etc. My car was in service last month. They gave me loan XV in CVT. I felt the same as my outback but little more horsepower than XV. I am sure you would not have problem with XV CVT or manual. TEST drive and see what you feel like.

You got that right. XV is sister to impreza except bigger tires and more ground clearance. Exterior is little different in design.

I do not disagree, that's why I drove through most of it very slowly. This car could move through even the worst of it on idle. The awd is just that good.

The basket is attached to the crossbars which are attached the the rails. I have not changed the grill without removing the bumper however I have heard there are ways to do so. Thanks for the compliment.

I drove mostly city, I was averaging 26.4mpg city and hit 400 miles on a tank. The few times I go on the highway I get around 28 to 30 but am driving 80mph.

Not at all, I made a 3 hour trip a couple weeks ago with a cargo basket attached to the top and even with the additional drag I had no trouble passing anyone. I was traveling around 80mph most of the trip with no trouble.

I do off road regularly, the car and tires are completely stock. I am located in Joplin, Missouri. Unfortunately there isn't too many great places to off road around here, it is fairly flat. I have a few places I like to go and plan to make more videos. I also have a 2006 Subaru Outback XT that I plan to video as well. Thanks for watching.

I bought one mid February. All I will say is DO NOT GET A PZEV one. To get clean emissions the engine runs a lot higher RPMS when the engine is cold. So me taking my son to school which is a 6 mile trip I get about 22 per gallon and the roads are all highway. Millage on the Crosstrek is worse than my 3.8L V6 Minivan.

How's the car holding up after 3 years? Any issues while owning it(big or small)? I'm down to either a new Tacoma 2wd or a new XV. I don't go off road often but want something that can incase i want to hit the light stuff. I prefer the XV since its got 4 seats, and a covered cargo compartment. But I like the Tacoma because it's got better resale value(think long term). My 2008 Impreza WRX was a major pain in the ass hence I'm hesitant on getting another Subaru. Drove great but the interior was falling apart after 7 years. Also had a constant check engine light that couldn't be traced down.

I cannot remember how deep they were, but clearly they were deep. I had been through that trail many times before with my 06 Outback XT, so I had experience. Once it warms up I am going to make a new video with my 14 Forester XT, be sure to check it out in a couple months.
