Sligneris I'm fairly sure all De Killers were shown to have the name 'Shelly de Killer' or maybe I'm just remembering that wrong. Though I do remember Edgeworth saying in Justice for All that Shelly de Killer first appeared 100 years prior and went on to explain it was a different man with the same name. So it's possible that the first de killer is Shelly de Killer, just will be revealed to be a totally different person with a slight resemblance to the one we know from AA2 and AAI2.

Of course, they could just add some dialogue in the end about Ryunosuke moving to America, and just handwave the names as people actually talking in japanese and us just hearing names as they sound to japanese.

+NinjaOnion None of that is necessarily true, DGS takes place several generations before the ace attorney main storyline, so if they just give us the game with the story as it is there won't be any discontinuity, Naruhado or any of his descendants could emmigrate to LA over this time frame and as for the names, its as simple as assuming a female descendent of the DGS protaginist marries a man with the name Wright and takes his name, problem solved.

You are forgetting one major detail. AA games are moved to Japanifornia in the first place because capcom decided they are too japanese for westeners. They are not going to realease a game as it is. And since this time japanese parts are actually important to the story, they can't change them without changing the story

I just thought of something. In this game, we have a jury. It's also apparently cannon to the Ace Attorney series. And the current issue in the series (as seen in Apollo Justice and Dual Destinies) is how messed up the law is. In Apollo Justice, the jury system was tried again, but it apparently either didn't work, or was yet to be officially be put back into play by the time of Dual Destinies' events. So what if this game reveals something or other about the law that will actually be instrumental in the plot of whatever the next current-day Ace Attorney game is?

You see it wouldn't be much of a problem to port this but unlike other games, the American version of the 3DS does not work with any Japanese 3DS games, they are all region locked. Point is, even if it was fan translated, you still need a Japanese 3DS system to play it, witch most of us do NOT own.

So, what I understand from this is that the game will: a) use pretty much the same graphical/artistic style as Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney; b) use the 'jurist system' (misleading name, by the way) from Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney; c) possibly use something along the lines of the 'multiple witnesses' from PL vs AA for changing the juror's minds (being able to select each one? Who knows). Interesting, still. I wonder if the 'Turnabout X' naming scheme for the cases will remain, even a couple centuries in the past; or if the legal aide has any mystical powers (similar to Maya's Magatama for Wright, spirit channeling for Maya/Mia/Pearl, the Bracelet for Apollo, and Widget for Athena). Whatever the case, it will still have amazing music.

I'm crying oh my god. I'm not really interested in this because of Ace Attorney (I'm a little bit into the third game in the series as of right now) as much as I am because of LAYTON VS. WRIGHT. Because with the whole medieval theme that game had going on and now Victorian London and so this is like Lvs.W's spiritual successor omg I'm in love. ;______; ...It doesn't help that that PROSECUTOR LOOKS JUST LIKE BELDUKE OMFG. *sob* I need it, I NEED it.

Lord Pigeon Well the 6 jurors are randomly picked and have nothing to do with the case so you won't be cross examining them. The point is to convince them that your client is not guilty adding a bit more depth and personality to the courtroom. However, the very first trial sees you cross examining 2 witnesses at the same time. It takes place in a Japanese courtroom where it plays similarly to the original games. (Similar format to what PLvsPW did) As for source, there's a gameplay trailer on the first case on one of capcoms channels.
