Seems likely. Important if doing DVT study or placing central line to be sure your targets are against the chest wall. Look for ribs and pleural sliding just underneath the central vessels.

For the subclavian vessels, transverse images are acquired with the indicator directed to 12:00, for longitudinal images, usually around 8:00 on the right, around 10:00 on the left
