you missed yamnotri glacier why??
@zetaupsc2 ай бұрын
I think bandarpunch glacier is colloquially called yamontri glacier, sometimes a finger of bandarpunch glacier is also called yamnotri glacier. However, in books they mention bandarpunch glacier only. so for exams yamuna origiantes from bandarpunch glacier.

Dear sir, Could you please answer my questions. Because by referring to your animation diagram and Student Atlas, when I compared the north eastern Himalayas, I am a little bit confused about the location of hills. So the confusion that I came to know is mentioned below. Kindly reply sir. 1.Mismi hills lie in shivaliks or not? 2.Miri and abor hills lie in the greater Himalayas or middle Himalayas?
@zetaupsc2 ай бұрын
Yes dear, i agree the last part of the animation was a bit confusing, you will get more clarity about it in the video of northeast mountains here kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYPYdIawgtJpn9E. Regarding your question, the Himalayas are named based based on geological process and time when it were created, so all mountains in shivaliks are roughly created by same process occurying over roughly same duration. But the mountains in north east are not named based on their geological origin or history but on the tribes inhabiting them. For example Daphla hills are hills inhabited by Daphla tirbe, same is true for abhor, miri and others. So Daphla, miri, abhor etc, they are not confined to Shivaliks or central himalayas alone but they cover both of them or even all three of them. Moreover, the compression in north-east was over very short interval comparred to western himalays which you can see here kzbin.info/www/bejne/foWkgKenp8qqgpI, so the three divisions are not widely seperated but intermixed and compressed together.
