It’s the great way when you put the tarp under your house to prevent weeds and termites later , great channel .

Looking good guys. If you had taped the joints on your foil-wrap, it could have acted as your vapor barrier for the floor too.

I watch a few channels that have used the bubble foil as well and will be interested in seeing how that works out. Love the fact that you are using plywood instead of OSB, I do not think I will use OSB again up here for anything other than the walls lol....great video guys! And the new mics picked up the wind well while allowing us to hear you clearly too. I probably should use mine too hahahhaha

Hi me again. Maybe a tips for your next house. Before install the floor joist install a 1x4 so that comes under the joist when you install them (if you using 2 inch joists). If you not install the sub floor direct you do not have problem if its rain. just move around a temporary plywood if you need it. Now you not have a plywood between the wall and the floor, bad if you got a leak. So when the house is water proof you can start from the inside, drop sheets between the floor joist and they land on the 1x4 you already install, its importent have the right messure for the joists C/C, there are sheets how fits direct and they made for this . Then insulation and finish with plastic moisture barrier. So No need to work under the house and easy to install pluming. Im 60 so work smarter not harder.

Looking good guy's the cabin floor is down your one step closer ! 👍Great explaining how you do it awesome :) Don't forget to insulate your corners where you put extra stud for inside wall to attach before you do the sheeting, A lot of people forget !

Just my thoughts, later put a center support under those floor joist for additional support. That is a wide span. God bless your family.

looks good so far, there should be a center support beam ,wide span with no support might cause problems you won't want

@@keithchabot1565 my original plans had it. Then the engineer i took it to said i didn't need it if i cantilevered the subfloor 12 inches and upgraded from 8 to 10 inch sonotubes. But if he ends up being wrong it's something i can add later if needed. There's no building codes and inspections here so i just took it to someone i trust. Hope he's right. Thank you for the input

I would’ve put the bubble wrap on the whole floor first. Then tape up the seams to prevent air leakage. But since you’ll insulate under it might not matter.

You are refering to "Boss of the Swamp". He's the bubble foil king/champion. I've watched his channel for about a decade now. If you enjoy some off grid life/build vids with a very smart dog "Frankie", watch him from the beginning.

I think you are supposed to overlap the silver insulation a bit. I have seen a lot of people up in Alaska use it. You have a good start 👍.

Yeah I'm sure you are, I wanted too but the roll was just big enough to where I had to but it or buy another roll for 200. If it was the only insulation i was using I would have made the investment.

The weight supporting walls and the load of the roof are cantilevered past the foundation supports so its more likely the middle would rise before it sags.
