Here are the torque specs from the service manual: Bushing clamp (2) - 22.1 ft-lb Endlink (2) - 28 ft-lb Lateral link 17mm - 59 ft-lb If you don't torque correctly, it will CREAK !!

Which one is the Lateral link? Just installed this yesterday and I have a lot of creaking on every little bump.

@DD-jj2tc4 жыл бұрын
@@Cnbecker9 the same as listed above torque is more dependent on the bolt diameter than the stack thickness

Pull the end links off with the sway bar if you're going to be replacing them. They can be a pain to remove if you have some milage on the car. Also, this should be done with the rear suspension loaded at your planned ride height. Back on to some ramps... It works really well, just make sure the ground is even.
@pogtuber51462 жыл бұрын
I was going to say, suspension should be under load when installing.
@gunracersr9 жыл бұрын
Sorry if this was covered, I didn't see it in my scanning. But aren't you supposed to put the weight of the car on the suspension to settle the bushings before you tighten and torque them?
@sumitpatil63465 жыл бұрын
Can u please explain why is it necessary to put the weight on suspension to settle the bushings??
@jack0735 жыл бұрын
@@sumitpatil6346 Given these are suspension bolts, they have to be tightened and torqued to spec underload otherwise they might creak or even come loose.

From the Whiteline install PDF Caution: Always start with softer setting rather than harder. - Always use new hardware if supplied. - Tighten all fittings with the vehicle at ride height

The Y pipe (exhaust) can get in the way of the rear Whiteline Sway Bar. You may need to remove it, easier if you have an Invidia installed. The stock might be a PITA.
@NastyTranquillin8 жыл бұрын
also, what is the torque spec for all the hardware?

This is 1,000,000 times easier if you drop the exhaust like SubiSpeed did.

Was going to ask if this was mandatory or just a recommended thing... I will probably pull mine, or at least disconnect at the same point, as I already need to replaced that gasket anyways..
@kiddcisco8 жыл бұрын
can one install new bar on ramps or is it recommended to with suspension unloaded say using jacks?
@james945825 жыл бұрын
I'd say put it upon jack stands while you're doing the swapping, the set it down onto ramps when you go to tighten everything up.. That is what it seems like would be the best way to do it as I've been researching this install lately for both the rear and the front say bars... Plan on doing either lowering springs or coilovers at the same time...

Is there a difference between the WRK and the STI sway bar? I understand there was quite an improvement in the suspension of the '15 suspension and I'm wondering if this will really be necessary for my STI Launch Edition.
@octurbojoe10 жыл бұрын
The STI has a 20mm rear sway bar whereas the WRX has a lesser 18-19mm rear sway bar. The Whiteline adjustable rear sway bay will benefit either cars and will also fit both cars.

Why does no one talk about the booklet instructions from whiteline showing that spacers must be added together in order to shift the centerline at the LCA side of the end links? In theory not doing so would apply a partial lateral load on the LCA instead of just perpendicular. Am I the only one overthinking it? It would be really hard to shift the end link center bolt sleeve, pretty much requiring a bushing press every time you want to shift between Low,Med,High levels. Has anyone had issues because of this in the long run? 🤔
