Hi Cori! This video was so so helpful - I come back to watch it every time I receive an ornament order due to the way you have explained it so thoroughly. Question - the pro spray you use link says not found and I can’t find that brand / spray anywhere. Do you have alternatives?

Shoot, that's a bummer! I couldn't find it anywhere either. I have seen people using the 3M repositionable spray (amzn.to/3TanBjH affiliate link) but I haven't tried it myself!

The manufacturer recommendations for my wood ornaments are: 60 sec Temp: 400° Pressure: Medium

Can you reuse your sheets of butcher paper? Or is it best to always start with a new piece?

If I don't see any ink bleed through, I reuse! But even the smallest amount of ink bleedthrough can end up on your next project, so definitely recycle if you see any ink on the sheet.

Thank you for the tutorial … very timely ❤. My question is, I don’t own a heat press, but I have a Cricut Easy Press, what are your suggestions for the ceramic sublimation ornament using the Easy Press … I do not own the green mat and it is a little pricey. Should I use the Easy Press mat …. or maybe a pressing pillow?

Hmm, good question. I would go with no mat vs. the pressing pillow or EasyPress mat. The green mat actually conducts heat so it gets really hot-the other two options disperse heat and wouldn't get hot enough to sublimate through them. I do think something more solid underneath is important-the EasyPress mat gives too much, so maybe a folded towel or that wool mat I recommended. I would try 400° for 240 seconds to start, one side at a time, just letting your EasyPress sit on top vs. pressing with your arms. The ornament shouldn't crack because the pressure isn't as solid as a heat press you have to close. Hope that helps!

What sort of wood round did you use? I didn’t realise you could sublimate without laminating first.

It has a sublimation coating! So it was laminated or sprayed or coated (not sure which!)-just not by me. The link for them is in the description! :)

So how do you attach the second side with the heat transfer tape if you don't want the tape imprinted like you mentioned with the metal blank? I am just getting into sublimation (so new my printer isn't even out of the box yet...lol) and your videos are super helpful! Thanks.

I really think the spray is easier for projects like this, so that's my first recommendation. If not, I try small pieces of tape where there's no image if possible (like on my ornament) or I use a piece of paper on the back so the tape sticks to the back paper and then I just try and tape it together as tight as possible. Does that make sense?

@@brendajos The tape works well for like 80% of projects but there are just some where the spray is better! Definitely have both on hand once you get your sublimation stuff up and running! Good luck!

I tried to order some of the spray adhesive. I do not have a small business to charge it to and can't afford nearly $40.00 for a can of the stuff, no matter how great it is. Is there any thing else you could recommend?

Understandable! I've heard people use things like the 404 spray adhesive but I haven't tried it myself. I'm not sure if it would leave any residue or marks, but it might be easier to find and less expensive if you want to try it!
