Have had no luck with these options. Our Epson ET-2800 continues to not use the proper color profile no matter what we do? Have there been any updates since this video to more work arounds? It seem, no matter what, the Epson printer refuses to change the profile "internally" ***HELP***!!!

How do you know it's not changing internally? Unfortunately, the Epson hack is just that...a hack. There are always a handful of people it doesn't work for :(

We assume it is something in the internal software of the printer that is blocking the profiles from printing the correct color (which is usually a faded yellow or pink instead of correct color) it also could be blocked nozzle? Is there another printer besides Sawgrass that we can purchase that is less trouble?

@@Disco_DaveK Absolutely! The Brother SP1 is a great sublimation printer that does automatic maintenance and it's much less expensive than the Sawgrass.

No matter what I do, my black is coming out blue using Printers Jack Ink. I reached out to them and followed all their steps but nothing is working. I might have to switch to hippo ink if it is worth it.

Darn! I'd give the other ink a try if you think it'll work. Just be sure you purge the lines completely before switching!

hmm I found the color sync and other options in system dialog box using DS for my epson printer.

so what I did is I put in macOS 13 downloaded the package and installed, then went back to 14 and just did the driver update. It's a pain but I got it. Strange that epson had the package download for 13 but not 14

Ugh...why did they do this?! Unfortunately with the ICC profile I got for the ink I use (from the company) is off. It prints way too blue and not contrasted enough, and no other ICC worked. I'm currently using an older computer with an OS that allows me to color match. I just wrote to Apple asking them to bring it back. Fingers crossed they do! I don't want to upgrade my printer, but that may be something I have to do :/

I have added it under colorsync file on MacBook and I see on the file. However when in preview > tools > assign profiles... It doesn't give me the Hippo et 2800 option.

Ok, so i also spent a good amount of time trying to solve this, 6hrs or so lol everything i found kept telling me about “color matching/color management” options in the printing dialog window which i just did not have. Finally a simple uninstall and reinstall of my printer drives and software for some reason fixed it even though everything (Mac/printer/Affinity)prior was all up to date. I will say tho i also went and deleted any files i had of old printers my Mac still had on file, dk if this helped or had anything to do with my issues. Anyways, i have the same printer (2850) and ICC profile as you (Hippo Epson ET4700) my problem before was my printer wasnt able to print the colors correctly, it printed a greenish hue, but i noticed on your video and on my design, that as soon as i assign that icc profile it literally turns my colors on screen to a green hue, is that normal? I’m afraid to print it as it looks like what i was trying to avoid & because I’m 2 sublimation tumblers down and dont want to keep wasting more 😩

Oh gosh! I'm sorry you're having this problem. It's hard to say what your colors will print like. Personally, I would test on polyester fabric rather than more tumblers. One of my favorite hacks is to purchase a cheap cut of white poly fabric from the fabric store and test my prints on it before I test on any of my blanks. This helps to see if the color issues have been resolved without wasting pricey blanks!

⁠@@HeyLetsMakeStuff i was able to find and download an icc profile for the exact printer i have so i just went with that instead of the other version. Tumbler finally printed way better, well, kind of lol it did turn some small golden specks to green, but you know what, it worked for the design! So i kept it, everything else was perfect And i was too tired to spend another day troubleshooting that specific flaw lol. Love your idea on test materials to not waste actual expensive ones. I will definitely go thrift shopping for tumblers to engrave with my laser once i get to that type of project. Thanks so much 😊

I don't have one for that specific machine, but I usually tell people to try the Hippoo 4700 first because that one seems to work for a lot of people!

Ok I’m using Ventura OS 13 on a MacBook Air 2020 and my color matching option is showing in the print dialog box, so maybe this applies to someone using a different mac? I do have a different epson (XP 15000) though but I wouldn’t think that’s it?

Thanks for the info. Remember when hooking up peripherals to a Mac "just worked"? Yeah, well it's been awhile. Screwing up color management in Mac OS is so ironic it hurts. I'm just glad Adobe haven't lost their minds like Apple and color management still works in Photoshop. Was going to go with a wireless setup with my 8550 but after seeing the disaster that color management is I'll be sticking with a simple USB cable. Rant over.

A FIX!!! DELETING EPSON AIR PRINT!!! I do have the latest firmware and ICC profiles. But I did figure out how to get some control for my colors with a print dialogue box showing up as an "PRINTER OPTIONS" on a Mac and Epson 8550. It has to do with "Air Print". If you have this as your setting (which most will when they setup their printer) you need to delete your printer in preferences and re-add in (see Melinda Kraft KZbin video called: "SOLVED: Mac Epson Drivers and Sublimation Correction - March 2023). Melinda has a detailed presentation on how to do this. I now have access to Adobe RGB 2.2, Brightness, Contract, Saturation, etc... My printed colors are so much better now!!!
