A lot of people that hear this will have no idea that they're listening to straight up magic, it's unfortunate but I think after hearing this, most people won't be able to forget Brad's voice, and a new Sublime fan will be born.

Don’t do drugs anymore but man I’ll tell you sometimes I just wanna snap. Never heard this version before. Brad just had a way of taking the edge off of life, didn’t even have to say much. Like hitting the foil again

Wow, the more I explore, the more I love your channel. As a life-long Sublime fan (been listening since 1993, I still have a cassette copy of the Jah Won’t Pay The Bills demo that my cousin bought from Eric, out the trunk of his car, in the parking lot of a Warehouse Music lol), this channel is so much fun... there are so many unheard of gems here, and no live version of any song will sound the same to the studio versions, Hell, even from a different live performance of it. They were so ahead of their time, it’s such a shame. Can you imagine the kind of shit Bradley would be creating 10... 15... shit, even 20 years ago?! Especially with the advancement in technology and audio engineering. I went to a concert last night, this band called Badfish... it was my 5th time seeing them. Yes, they’re a Sublime cover band, and before anyone sighs, or rolls their eyes... I’d typically agree with you and cover bands are NOT my thing. But holy shit, Badfish is one incredible show to experience if you’re a huge Sublime fan like myself. I hate to say it, but I caught a Sublime w/ Rome concert years ago when they first started touring, and while they were a bit underwhelming, but still good, Badfish absolutely BLOWS them away. It’s bizarre to say, but so, so true. They do an incredible job at not only capturing Sublime’s cadence and sound... but somehow putting their own spin on it. They take what Sublime gave us, and make it their own, but aren’t obnoxious about it. It’s extremely subtle. And incredibly impressive. So, after awhile of not jamming to Sublime, I’m on the hunt for rare and extra / bonus material to add to this Sublime mixtape I’ve working on, albeit on and off for a year or so, all thanks to Badfish’s performance last night. It was inspiring. I can’t wait to finish recording it so I can post / share it with other Sublime nerds like me. It’s a on-going project that I’m actually really proud of, and if you knew me personally, you’d be shocked I just said that.

That's so awesome!! Glad you found your passion again for sublime...their magic never dies! May get old sometimes and make you wish there was more to hear. But between the live shows, the studio, the bootlegs, and other rarities in between, it definitely can keep you busy for a long term. SwR should never have happened. He should have been a tribute band - not called himself Sublime. No matter how good he was. If I recall, brad said that when he died, sublime died. I also want to say he registered his name to sublime or something of the sort. I happened to catch badfish tribute band at a free show myself. They were indeed pretty great! I hope you find much more on my channel and around youtube! Some of my custom stuff can be choppy for sure, but I like to put something out that sounds different and hope to maybe inspire people who have a better audio editing knowledge than myself. I use audacity and mixcraft but am only so good at it. I like to try to clean up choppy audio from live shows too. Also I'm curious about what you're recording?

Sublime Den sorry for the delay, dude. But I just wanted to thank you for the lengthy reply. It’s funny you said that though, cause they’re the type of band that eventually, you will get sick of, especially for nerds like us who must hear everything available... you just get burned out. Can be with any band or artist. But yes, Sublime just doesn’t get old. You take a break, and when you come back you not only come across new stuff, you fall in love with the music all over again, with a deeper understanding and respect for what they did. I only recently had the Boss DJ epiphany, which was bizarre because of how familiar I am with the music. As for my project - I’ve been DJing as a hobby since 2001ish, on and off. I came across a box of old mixtapes... literally, cassette tapes of my old mixes i thought were long gone. One of the mixes I had worked hard on and completed in 2006 was this Sublime tape. With technology being a bit more available than it was back then, I’ve been in the process of re-recording some of these mixes digitally, the Sublime one being the first. I just finished the cover art for it, I’m soo stoked dude. It’s definitely aimed at the OG fans... I didn’t set out to make a mix of all the hits, it’s been done, so I’m focusing on the more chill // beat-oriented tracks. The deeper cuts. It’s very much inspired by Robbin The Hood, kinda adoring that experimental low-budget cassette vibe. And yes! Raleigh is a huge part of it lol. So I’ve finished recording it digitally, track for track, from the original cassette. Only differences I made were tightening up the transitions. The songs literally flow into each other. It’s 45mins Long, and I plan on posting it soon. But while re-recording it, and applying not only my developed technique from over the years, but access to material that wasn’t as widely accessible back then, I’m making an updated version to it. Same basic structure but with more tracks sprinkled in here and there. Let me know if you’re interested - I’ll post the track list to give you an idea. If it’s something you’d want to check out, I’ll send you a link when it’s posted to soundcloud. It’s basically Sublime’s music, arranged and mixed by a Sublime nerd, FOR other Sublime nerds.

Another awesome track. Thank you for sharing. Listen to them literally everyday as well as play them so it's great to hear different versions. Where do you get all these more rare ones?
@sublimeden6 жыл бұрын
Mason Bohrer a bunch of searching and asking around for the more rare stuff, but there is a fairly common giant bootleg collection out there. A good majority comes from that bootleg collection. Occasionally though I find something myself outside of it and am able to post it...

Sublime Den well thank you for the extra mile. So what's the actual reason for all the music being released? I also had an idea but I'm not sure. Thanks for the response too
