💜I walked Minehead to Newquay over 11 days in June two years ago. I wild camped all the way. I want to pick it up again soon, and continue with the coast path it is so beautiful and the feeling I get from knowing all I have to do is walk, feed, water, sleep, there is nothing like it.

I think of it as life at its simplest and best: one foot in front of the other, eat, sleep repeat. I think you'll love the next section, the light becomes stunning as you get closer to St Ives and from then on the coast is truly rugged and wild. Do you live near the coast? I'm incredibly lucky to have this close to home (10 miles away).
@100Noddy3 ай бұрын
I live about 6 miles from Porth and Newquay. 6 miles too far from the coast 😊.

That's so kind, thank you. I'm such a night owl that I only ever see early mornings when I'm camping. I wish I could become a lark though because you're right, it's such a lovely part of the day - and so peaceful. Thank you so much for saying hi, it's lovely that you're here 😊

Found myself tearing up watching this vid when you said you had hoped for better days in the past and “those better days look like this” - definitely resonated! Recently got myself a bivi and camping gear. So glad I found your channel it’s getting me closer to actually getting out there for my first wild camp in the hope to see what my better day look like as I have been imagining. Thanks and all the best in your future adventures 🙏😉👍

I'm so glad it resonated with you 🙏Some of the best adventures are out there waiting for us - take a leap of faith, I'm sure you'll love it. I always find it so calming to stare up at a starry sky full of wonder and all warm and cosy. I'd love to hear how you get on - have you got any plans for where you might go?

@@stephie_10milehike I’ve got my bag packed and going to take the plunge heading for Tinto Hill in Lanarkshire. I’ll scope it out anyway and be ready to bail back to the car if necessary but hopefully be star gazing tonight! If all goes well it might be the start of things to come would like to do a bit of Island hopping and head for the hills around Scotland and having seen the coast around Cornwall it’s on my list as well. I’ll say hello if our paths cross while you are doing the West Highland Way. All the best!

Wow - that sunrise! Beautifully filmed as well by the way. Waking up to that after a night out in the open must've been so special, definitely a moment to savour, and to remember. Nature can put on so many stunning displays, and yet they go unnoticed by many people. I reckon if more people just stopped to stare for a while at a glorious sunset or sunrise they might feel a bit less stressed about life! A cracking video, and a friendly cow too!

Omg Mick, I couldn't believe my eyes. I woke up facing the sea with all those pinks and cloud inversions and I thought that was fantastic - and then I turned round and saw the sun! It was so special yet I hadn't expected to see anything as it was forecast to be cloudy. Right place, right time - but it's exactly as you say, you have to just stop and stare (and get out there!) for a while or you'll see nothing. I loved the way the cow turned to look at me at the end - it was like her 'yeah, and?' moment, and off she trots! 😂 Thanks so much for watching 😊

@@stephie_10milehike Like I said the other day, I prefer sunrises to sunsets just because everything is so still and quiet, and it just makes the moment more magical. I'm all for seeing as if through the eyes of a child, seeing with a sense of wonder, mindfulness and all those other well worn cliches, but it's the way to be when out and about I reckon - marvelling at the marvellous, but also the mundane as well! That coast path looks like prime adder country to me 😳 so you were brave bivvying along there - although it would've been chilly enough for them to be hiding away I imagine. Yes, that cow was definitely a cool cow - a mischievous trouble maker in the herd for sure! She had a 'yeah I'm out and about, havin' a walk around, so what?' look about her! 🤣 Take care, have fun!

That cow was so relatable 😅 I feel like my whole time on the coastpath was spent navigating around cows that were right on the path. Nice video, might give me the push to finally try out bivvy camping!

You should definitely go for it, there's nothing like lying under the stars feeling warm and cosy and watching the universe. It's incredible 😊 There's about a 6 week window over the winter when most cattle are in their sheds, it's bliss 🤣

Claire! Hi my lovely how are you? I'm glad you enjoyed it - it's a steep learning curve. I feel like it'll be really creative once I've got the hang of the basics and don't take 3 days to make a 10 minute video 😁 So good to see you, I'll pop over to you too. X

@@stephie_10milehike you're doing an awesome job. You've got the eye for good footage, and it will get easier the more you do anyway. But it's brilliant. No long, painful shots. Clips at just the right length. Lovely detail. Top points from me. :) x

Well? Did you make the bus Stephie? There's always another one later on 🙂. Who gave way eventually on the path, the cow or did you have to make a small detour? Remember, be bold and confident, they will moo-ve. Beautiful views to wake up to, enough endorphins to last a week! Keep 'em coming. Bev.

I just made it! I promised to get home early so I could go for another walk with my son 😂 oh an she was a very forthright cow - I had to sidestep very slightly! She was so funny. I've been called "the cow whisperer" in the past because I fended off a herd of large cows from a man and his daughter as the cows turned and ran down a hill - a real stampede. I'm not usually frightened of them, living in Cornwall they're everywhere, but when I'm low I know my reactions are slow and I do get anxious. I'll post a photo to the community tab later - cows standing on my tent last year 🤣 have a great weekend Bev, are you off out anywhere?

Hi Stephie, I might go out and do a circular walk on my local patch tomorrow, just south of Bristol, depends on the weather. Although I've got all the wet weather gear I hate walking in the rain (and mud), I still find I get sweaty even with Paramo breathable coats 😕. Hope you manage to get out.
