Once again you picked a heck of a spot to spend the night! You say about looking up at the night sky - I always think - look up. Doesn't matter if you're in town, in the woods or out in the open, we miss so much by not looking up and seeing what's going on. Once you get focused on the night sky and you really start looking closely, it really is amazing isn't it. I see a lot of people having early morning swims, and it must be a wonderfully refreshing way to start the day, but oh dear me, that sea must be flipping cold! That looked a cracking walk and night out, and nicely filmed too - all very relaxing to watch, and I love the close ups of the flowers. Great stuff! Take care, have fun!

The night sky is just incredible, even clouds at night can look amazing. Also, if you look up in the woods you can see the see birds! My friend goes sea swimming in the mornings, I don't know how she does it - she was even trying to do it without a wetsuit in winter 🥶 - Baltic! The air temperature has to be hot before I even consider getting in the sea - so usually about Augus-September. I do love it, but I really don't like the cold. Thanks so much for your kind words about the video Mick, it makes me smile from ear to ear. I hope you've had a good week so far, have you been out on the bike?

@@stephie_10milehike What especially gets me is when we get a fantastic sunrise or sunset, there can be some beautiful sky scapes with incredible pinks, reds and oranges, the clouds and so on, and yet few people will ever even notice - too busy doing whatever they're doing to even notice most of the time. It's all part of that 'seeing with a sense of wonder' I suppose - there are some incredible things going on around us if we choose to notice them! I went past Caerhays Castle and on to Gorran Haven on Sunday, saw about half a dozen early swimmers there. Your friend though, going in in winter without a wet suit, she must be -utterly mad- very dedicated! 🤣 Yesterday I did 20 miles round the lanes around Trerice, Newlyn East and so on. Two really enjoyable rides. Hope you're getting tuned up for the big Highland walk! Take care, have fun! 👍

Hi Stephie, Great vlog episode. Good choice of walk too. You may find it easier to navigate the kissing gates, if you remove your back pack etc first. Bit of a faff, but less painful !!! Happy Hiking!😀

Omg, I'm way too lazy - if I can't get through I climb over 🤣🤣 It's a beautiful part of the coast, do you know it?

The morning sun breaking through the clouds was really lovely Stephie, shame it didn't burn them away. When you were on the beach, I thought "Why's she filming a hubcap?", it took me a few seconds to realise it was a 'jelly' 😄. I hope the weather improves for your long-distance hike, Scotland I think you said, watch out for the Highland cattle 😧 🐮Bev.

A compass jellyfish - apt 😁 I wouldn't like to be swimming with it though!

Another great video. Love it. Really interesting to see your kit choices as well.

Thanks Claire - it feels good to have posted it (lots of it's on the cutting room floor 😂). What's your favourite piece of kit - is it a hammock?
@clairesoutdoorodyssey3 ай бұрын
@@stephie_10milehike favourite bit of kit. Hmm. Tough one! I guess it would be between my hammock and my neoair xtherm mat. I do so love hammock camping but the mat, when traditional camping, is a game changer. :)
@stephie_10milehike3 ай бұрын
@@clairesoutdoorodyssey I haven't tried the xtherm, but the xlite is really warm, and in the winter I use a thin silver mat underneath. I'm not sure what the r-value is tbh (I've forgotten what it is, is more accurate 🤣). Are you heading out this weekend?
@clairesoutdoorodyssey3 ай бұрын
@@stephie_10milehike I'm a cold sleeper, so I went for the maximum r-rating I could afford. But you certainly save a bit more space/weight with the xlite. Yes, we're heading to dartmoor for the weekend. Just planning a little route. Hoping for some dry weather, and not too hot (we have the poodle with us, and he's not good with temperature). Are you having another adventure?xx

@@clairesoutdoorodyssey Oh dear, I hope you've had less rain than back home! I'm hoping to head to Dartmoor in a couple of weeks with my son to test out his kit and walking legs for the West Highland Way - I'm anxious about him tbh, he doesn't seem to want to do much training😬 Hope you have a great camp - arre you heading for some woodland or the open moor? xx

@stephie_10milehike I need to build up my walking legs, I live on one of those narrow lanes usually not too busy apart from tractors which don't leave much room for a pedestrian

@@LezleysAdventures So good to hear you're getting out and about. The lanes are mostly lovely to walk on aren't they. so full of colour right now.
