Really liked that you included a group of people using it for the first time also nice editing at 7:24. I think I'm finally convinced on changing my BDB and Sette 270 setup to a cafelat robot, nano pro, and DF54.

The robot is fab, I’ve gone from a kinu hand grinder to a cheapy urbanic grinder to a Zerno with it and uses each gen of the nanofoamer along the way. The pro isn’t 100% perfect maaaybe 85% but having the milk do its thing as I prep and pull a shot on the robot is fab.

For anyone watching this: Gen-2 was recently released xD. My thoughts: "For anyone considering this upgrade, or on the fence about the device - this is definitely a worth it. MUCH easier to clean (yeah you still have to clean it right away but it is astoundingly less sticky now), you don't have to be careful about the bottom, the lid fits a lot better and the alignment of the lid is idiot proof, milk residue doesn't get stuck in the seal on the lid. There's also hotter drinks, and programs 1 and 2 work slightly better than before, especially with the fine tuning of the impeller. That said, people who weren't satisfied with the lower programs probably won't get this gen 2 to work for them either."

Update: 1st one stopped functioning after about 5 months. The replacement is fiddly. Constantly needs adjustment to work properly. It doesn’t spin properly (or at all)in the second half of the process. Well, sometimes it does when it chooses to. And I definitely have the lid on correctly. I’ve noticed there’s a new version launching soon. I appreciate they sent a replacement but I am not impressed at all. Way too faffy for something at that price point. I keep reverting to my trusty old Dualit.

Biggest gripe: It's not dish water safe. This thing, having an exposed bottom for the electronics, makes it very annoying to clean. Especially, if you have big hands.
@MooCreation5 ай бұрын
Yeah for that reason I was considering this but now I will go with DREO BaristaMaker.
@Durrani19846 ай бұрын
I also had challenges in achieving consistent results. I ended up selling mine and instead found a lot more joy using the lithium nano foamer and heating the milk in the microwave.. cleaning is a lot easier too

I currently use an Aeroccino with a Moka pot. I have a nano foamer but don’t use it for the reasons you stated. The great thing about this product, and the Aeroccino is that you can run it while preparing the coffee brew and time it so they are ready at the same time.

I used brush ( for long narrow bottle on amazon) to make burnt milk come out first and used napkins to clean everything at the end. If you don’t have that brush, you can pour hot water inside and let it soak while you enjoy your latte.

I love my nanofoamer pro, however the exposed bottom holes are a huge design flaw which actually caused water to get inside during cleaning and ruined my unit. On the plus side Subminimal are an amazing company and they sent me a complete replacement unit free of charge. I just wish someone had a smart idea for cleaning, I usually use a damp towel to clean it from the inside, then clean the towel later.

Curious which you believe makes the better milk foam: - Subminimal Nanofoamer Pro or - Breville's Auto MilQ system
@LifestyleLab_6 ай бұрын
I'd say the nanofoamer takes it by a small fraction. At least on the very fine end of things.

@@LifestyleLab_Would your answer be different if the choice included other frothers and if the drink was hot chocolate and therefore no need for art?

If you don't need that PERFECT texture required for art, then you'll be very happy with either :)
@tomoxfford6 ай бұрын
@@LifestyleLab_ Thanks. I now realise I need an electric heater & frother I can use to make hot chocolate but which, after possibly pouring some out, lets me press another button to froth it without having changed any moving parts inside. Most seem to require different parts fitting depending if the task is heating or frothing. If you happen to know one that doesn’t need adjusting to switch from heating to frothing do feel free to let me know! Many 🙏 thanks

Strange I got it dialled in with 1 day, oh wait you weren't aligning it properly 😂. However I stopped using it because it is annoying to clean. So I went back to using the steam wand but yeah I would completely recommend a Flair, kettle and a Nanofoamer as a starter or endgame setup for extraction. You can then poor the rest of your money into the grinder as this is where the most gains are going to come from (aside from beans).

To add foamed milk absolutely! :) To make lattes, no, as the Moccamaster isn't an espresso machine

A moccamaster makes drip coffee which isn't typically combined with foamed milk. But you can make whatever combination you like :) A latte or cappuccino (which are foamed milk) is made with a shot of espresso, not drip coffee.

This device has a lot of promise and it does work (eventually). But the issue that is you will not be able to fix is how impractical it is!! The top cover is very Fidgety and does not get in place easily. It is very sensitive when you clean it (due to exposed electronics at the bottom). Also the milk sticks on its surface a lot more than other frothers (compared to something like nestle aeroccino which does not stick at all!!) So the experience of using it is very frustrating. I end up having to focus on how to cover the lid properly and how to clean the milk stuck on it while I don’t drop any water on the exposed electronics rather than focus on the quality of milk being produced!! So it is not at all the hands free experience it is described to be. I might as well just freaking steam the milk on a regular steam wand. Which is what I ended up doing. Will be on the lookout for a hands free device that can create a perfect texture everytime without giving me a headache. The Nanofoamer pro is not it. Pure hype.
@LifestyleLab_5 ай бұрын
An update version will be announced tomorrow that fixes each of the gripes you mention. It's not "all hype", it's a first generation product that is very impressive and has some quirks as explained in the video 👍

Been looking at many milk frothers with heat. All break down at the 6mth mark and some burn milk at bottom...!? With all the advance in technology, you'd think a milk frother would last and have consistent results
@LifestyleLab_5 ай бұрын
They just released a Gen 2 that is much better for stuck on milk. I've been using my Gen 1 for well over a year without issue. Dreo also just released a frother that I'm in the process of reviewing, very robust build

I don't know why everyone is ignoring the Breville Milk Cafe that has been available for 10 years. The jug holds much more milk, it's dishwasher and sink washing friendly, can do hot and cold drinks etc... I've had mine for a decade and it's still going strong.

There are lots of frothers that have been around for a long time. It's the final 10% needed for latte art quality microfoam that takes the final 90% of the effort to get there

Everyone is ignoring it because the foam it produces isn’t even good enough for a stiff cappuccino. For things other than coffee it is fine I suppose.

Difficulty cleaning is a deal breaker for me. I have the original nanofoamer and while i can get great results, getting the little screen cleaned is a complete chore, nigh on impossible, and leads to me not using the unit. Plus, the screen is difficult to get to stay in the housing. Keeps falling out. Poor build quality 😕

Wow! Is my phone tracking my activities. I just finished making 4 lattes for 4 of my guests at home. The Nanofoamer Pro stopped heating at the 4th cup. I ended up putting the last cup of milk to the microwave then frothing it to the Nanofoamer Pro. 😢

Have mine from kickstarter, very inconsistent especially if you make two in a row. Cleaning is a pain in the ass. Also have the lithium a little practice and you get better results. But I am curious about the new brand that also is coming with an foamer that provides micro foam for latte the Dreo barista maker
