Regarding the temperature, they are working on making it even more precise. Apparently mine had a couple of issues from this first factory run, but it's understandable. They can't use a probe like in electric kettles because how prone those are to building up gunk.

WOW! Thanks for the video. I have a milk frother from my days drinking Nespresso. It always made the foam too stiff by the time the milk was fully heated. The foam was never integrated into the milk. I would never have believed it possible had you not demonstrated. Things that make you go hmmm.

Kinda really surprised he didn’t compare to the Nespresso one that is almost identical ( and I’d argue with a better/less fiddly foaming spinner implementation / design) which has been around for maybe 15 years now - I’ve been using mine for 6 or 7 and would love to know if this is a worthwhile improvement.

@@dylanevans5644 Whilst I appreciate your reply - anecdotal experience isn't the same as a proven comparison. I've always decent enough results - not steamer-wand levels, and the Nespresso one used almost the exact same system so I'm not sure assuming one is much better really cuts it - hence a comparison would be straightforward. Even if the champions was "This is MUCH better than that".

@dylanevans5644 10 ай бұрын
@@iamjayrobinson Are you talking about the nespresso milk frother that has the small whisk that drops onto a nub at the bottom and has a coiled spring like disc that spins? This is the style I have seen most often, and most other manufacturers are a variation on this. Some foams come out better than others but none are comparable to the foam from an espresso machine. I must have used about 20-30 or so of these types of frothers (they are popular at work, and I work contracts) and not one makes foam like an espresso machine or this nano-foamer. Of course my experience in anecdotal, but the comparison is, in my mind at least, virtually pointless.

Thanks for the review! I decided to stick with my Nanofoamer Li for now because of the ease of cleaning and it being less finicky. I might reconsider buying the Pro later after more user feedback. @@alkachauhan7612 I can vouch for its performance. It literally creates quality microfoam with a press of a button. It's just about dialing in how much foam you want. The only downside is the cleaning part. I thought a quick rinse would be enough but you always have to brush the inside walls especially at the bottom cause milk can burn and stick to it. My hands are a bit big so its uncomfortable to stick it in and get a sponge down there.

I noticed can make reasonable microfoam with regular milk frothers that have a sufficiently weak motor so that the spinner is only able to pull in air (displace the milk) at the very beginning of the whip. My delonghi has a 'weak' setting that's supposed to be used for milk warming but it works pretty well for this. It's not perfect though and I need to fill it very high so I'm excited for this product.

Looks pretty good. I almost backed it to go with the Meticulous machine but cleaning process didn't seem like it would as easy as a traditional steam pitcher cleaning. And meticulous came out or are coming out with their own more traditional steam wand type solution with automated or manual modes. I think the fact this one can do cold foam is a big plus and very cool. Its also cheaper. Size limit isn't ideal though if you have to make multiple large milk drinks at the same time but that's not something I'd normally do anyway.

Hi Lance, what a timing… I just purchased a Nanofoamer Lithium and watched your (awesome) master class. I trained with normal milk today (and made delicious silky milky pancakes afterwards) and had really good results. Been thinking about the Pro as well of course. However, regarding your review: You could do a follow up comparing it with different milk alternatives. My wife and I drink only oat milk cappuccinos, and I have a really hard time getting good results with the Nanofoamer. Our go-to barrista oat milk brand uses only oat and inulin (no oil) in their recipe. Its quite hard to get the silky milky with the french press, but it is possible. With the Nanofoamer, it is frustratingly impossible to even get a little bit of foam. Now I have purchased 5 different oat milks will different recipes and will try to master the silky milky with the Nanofoamer. I would be really curious how difficult it is with the Pro to get decent results with milk alternatives (like, you buy 10 different brands and compare). Cheers, and thanks for the effort you put in this!

I’d be me interested in purchasing one of these if I wasn’t so disappointed with the quality of the handheld subliminal nano foamer. The button on mine barely works (even right out the box) and it was clearly constructed in the cheapest way possible. The impeller outer ring cracked after two months of daily use/cleaning since the mesh ring is only a tight press fit. Clearly the materials were not good enough, and the price was just way too high given the issues I have. Since this product has so many more moving components, I’d really be nervous as to the longevity long term.

I've been testing one for a couple of weeks now too, and have similar great experiences. Interestingly, my very first try felt like it didn't heat enough and Dominic told me he increased the temperature based on tester's feedback. I guess people like their silky milky hot! 🙂 The lid only fits one way, so I never had issues with that. For cleaning, I put water in and a drop of detergent, and let it run on one of the programs. I always have a glass of water standby when I use the manual NanoFoamers, so in that regard this is the same. But there's definitely less build-up of stuff in the impeller than with the manual versions. Maybe because it heats the milk slowly while spinning? Do you think there's a flavor difference of slowly heated milk compared to "slam it with steam"? I'm with Team Lyndsey here!

@@x3BobO I think there are 2 things going on with Lance's temperature test compared to mine. I have an earlier prototype that maxed at 60°C, but the later ones (like the one reviewed here) should do the second beep at 65°C. Someone commented that a thermocouple probe can give weird readings due to the magnets in the base. This might explain why it cooled down so much after pouring into the cup, and why it didn't taste burned. I've had milk heated up to 70°C by mistake, and it's pretty obvious as the flavor impact is not subtle at all. 😉

Another excellent video, Lance! I am wondering if the significant temperature variance has anything to do with the starting temperature of the milk product that you are using. For example, if you use milk directly from the refrigerator versus milk that has been sitting on the counter for 10+ minutes in a warm kitchen. It seems that the final temperature of the steamed milk could be different depending on your starting temp. Did you control for such a variable in your testing?

I used a splash of 5% vinegar diluted with water to remove proteinaceous gunk from pots and pans (cheese, cheese sauce, meat juices, etc.) I bet it would clean out the milk scum from the bottom of the Nanofoamer. Starting a milk cycle would likely help --a little heat and some agitation. Then a quick rinse with plain water to remove the vinegar residue.

Thanks for the review, this could be a good option…i put my money on a meticulous milk..but the workflow for this is a no brained. I wonder if they make it in white.

Hi Lance! I know nothing about steaming milk. I currently own an Aeroccino 4 and wonder if this is a worthy upgrade?

For the cost I'll stick to my french press method of foaming my milk. It works for me.

How would it compare with the Nespresso Barista machine. The Nespresso is not difficult to clean at all. Plus it can be used to prepare different menus

Hi! I just got this and each time I use it I get a milk that is just too dense and can’t do any latte art with it. I’m completely new to latte art though but I don’t think it’s my skill that’s the problem. The froth just ends up in a dollop at the end. Any ideas how to make it work? I tried with semi skimmed milk right out of the fridge, 160ml, on program 2, tried with 1 as well. Right away transferred to a pitcher, swirled and hit on the table and then into the coffee cup. Help!

Hi @Lance Hedrick, I ordered this nano foamer pro based on this video in october with the kickstarter. I was told by nov, i will receive it. I havent received it yet and cant wait for the delivery. By the way, I have a jura z10 that gives a decent espresso for a super automatic coffee machine. But cannot get latte art because of the milk texture. I am hoping nanofoamer pro will come to my rescue for me to be able to make latte art. I have been advised to get gaggia classic pro or breville bambino( or plus) with a baratza sette grinder instead by coffee enthusiasts at work. Can you please help with tips on how we can get latte art from super automatics in general and with jura z10 without having to buy another manual coffee machine? This is more for a leisure day hobby rather than daily routine. I am not looking forward to another alternate setup because i am the only at home taking coffee and have already spent $$$ on the jura z10. Not sure where else i could ask so reaching out to you for help. Thank you for inspiring a lot of us to venture into latte art.

Just received my nanofoamer Pro 2weeks ago. From my perhaps 8-10times of usage, the temperature (infrared thermometer) seems to hit 65c at the 2nd beep everytime. However I am having issue with the foam being too much and clumpy even at setting 1, black silicone piece regardless of volume of milk I use. I use dairy milk with slightly higher fat content than usual.

Lots of us here in the comment section have the same issue - I feel like it's possibly a problem with the type of milk in my country maybe? Same problem with both full fat and semi-skimmed milk

Does it stand the "wobble" test that you show on older videos? Also, how does it compare to the dozen of $30 models on Am**on?

It is pretty sad that they did not use induction heating, the milk would not stick to it. I have thrown away two of my foamers because of this. I had been using a Catler induction heating foamer for 10 years and it is still like new. I went for Nanofoamer because of the foaming technilogy used, so again the foamer would have been perfect with induction heating, plus using PID for temp control.

I'm a little curious if you ever checked the thermometer by putting it in something of known temperature, like ice water or boiling water.

8:10 Hello! How much milk did you use for this cup? I'm trying to use it, but the temperature is not hot enough for me. The foam is thicker when it continues to heat and stir😢

So close to pre-ordering, but why can’t we pre-select a desired temp? Why can’t it hold at that temp? I think I’ll wait for v2.

I have the same problem of milk scum on my breville auto frother (the giant $120 one). It's awful to clean. Any products that can help with that, other than just scraping it away?
