It is so sad that people who teach on this subject have to sugarcoat and be anxiously careful with not saying any “harsh” words because we women have become so proud and arrogant that we will get offended very easily if they don’t adorn this message of submission BUT this video was very straight forward, THANK YOU!

Well that’s because the topic of submission is often misused and weaponized as a tool of abuse against women, let’s not forget that. But I do appreciate discussions about submission in the way God intended.

Btw it’s so nice to see a man who leads, there is life in him, he looks happier, confident, it just looks right. A man who doesn’t lead just looks happy to not be alone but he looks very empty and effeminate, weak and the list goes on..

Great video guys! I love your videos. I talk to men about this when dating but after being in a relationship for a while. The man shows that he is not being lead by the lord and it's obvious. So I pull back or break up with them. It frustrates me that they don't take it seriously in the beginning. It ends up wasting my time. I'm doing my best to keep the faith. This was SO good, great to see a black couple living in the Lord's favor. For those who really want to disagree with submission, ... If it wasn't for Jesus' submission to the Father we would not have access to salvation. Phillipians 2:6 Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Of course we know men and women are completely, totally equal before the Lord just that like the Godhead we have differing roles and responsibilities.

Keep in mind that part of your duties as a wife is to advise your husband. If you think he is making a big mistake, talk about it respectfully. Decisions should always be made together. The husband just gets the final say. That is why it is important to make sure that you marry a man after God's heart, who respects you and has a teachable heart. Also, you NEVER have to submit to something that is against the Word of God because He is your ultimate authority. Hope this helps

i believe that the man is the head of the house and that God is his advisor, but we're his support, emotionally, physically and motivationally speaking. the only time we should refuse is if doing our husband's will would cause us to break the law. we can have our opinions, and we can respectfully address Him and SUGGEST something different, but if He says "no, I want it THIS way" just shut up and do what you're told.

I would add something to that example. Yes, she was absolutely right to submit to her husband and go with the decision he ultimately wanted to make. However, it's still important for him to be considerate of the views of his most trusted counselor, his wife. They both need to express their views clearly and respectfully. He needs to listen to her and consider her. But, he is ultimately the one who makes the decision and she submits, regardless of whether she agrees that it was the right decision or not. Now, with that example (ignoring the job opportunity part): they discuss, he makes the final decision. But, he is called to love his wife. While she is called to submit, he could have decided on the bank his wife wanted as an act of love to her. As the husband, you are called to sacrifice yourself for her. If she wants something, and it's not bad, you can often sacrifice your own personal desires for hers. You are still the decision maker, but you are making a decision to go with what she wants. You don't always have to do that. You especially don't want to do that if she wants something sinful or something harmful, like too expensive things you really can't afford. But, you should be capable of sacrificing your own preferences for hers. If the two of you are talking of what restaraunt to go to, go with what she wants. It won't kill you.

One reason i ran away from church. My dad has the mindset that if women lead we go to hell and i’m like i’m fine there(he treats my mom like crap anyway). Like i am too proud to be anyone’s doormat. Like i always valued independence and freedom and had my own goals and desires that i pursue no matter what. Like my dad always tell me i won’t ever be a suitable wife bcuz i’m “bossy for a woman” and i’m like thanx bro i Take bossy as a compliment. Like i accept compromise but as much as the other person accepts it. I value relationships as a bussiness. Like i ain’t anyone’s slave or doormat and rather than being in a controlling relationship i’d rather stay single 4ever Like i don’t let anyone dictate me what role am i supposed to have in relationships career wise and so on. Like i choose my own things and dont let anyone define how my happiness and life should look like. Like i never genuinely cared for church anyway like i feel it restricts my freedom following a set of rules and values i don’t approve of .Like ppl are different and there ain’t one size fits it all And i honestly think God put us on earth to make our own choices
@dwayne1474
@dwayne1474 3 жыл бұрын
Ohh definitely God put us on earth to make our own choices but that doesn't mean they are always right. It's a very dangerous idea for people to just do as they please. Rules are only made to keep things in order. But I guess it's nothing new that we humans don't like the rules. And submitting isn't you being a doormat. I'm sorry for you witnessing your Father doing bad things to your dad but that's not what biblical submission is. That's why it's key to get a God fearing man. One who respects you and honours you. One of the things they missed was that husbands are supposed to love wives as much as Jesus loved His church. Jesus doesn't control us now does He. He leads us and we can choose if we want to follow His ways or not. He still loves us. Now Jesus was willing to die for his church. Jesus, served His church, He had no shame in kneeling and washing His disciples feet. He loved His church so much He did anything to keep it safe. That's what a husband is supposed to be like. And husbands are meant to be lead by God. So if they are doing something ungodly or wrong call them out on it and pray to God. If they are lead by God and they are loving they'll listen. You submitting doesn't mean you don't have a say in anything. You're supposed to be involved in every decision. In addition to this that's why it's important to talk to each other and understand what you both expect of each other and really get to know them before committing to a relationship. But ultimately its your own choice and I pray you find God and he helps and blesses you on your walk of life.

I myself am blessed with a father who has very strong foundations in The Word of God. Now I grew up in Zimbabwe a country with a number of economical problems. Now my mother one day got a job opportunity with a visa that could sponsor the whole family. Now my mother and father had very secure jobs. My dad was in a good position having been one of the founders and one of the leaders of a law firm. We were living a fairly comfortable life in Zimbabwe however, this was an opportunity to improve our living conditions and for future job opportunities for me as well as I was still in education. However there was a problem in that in the UK good jobs were extremely difficult to find for non-uk. My mother told my dad about the job and potential move. Now my mother was a very Godly woman she submitted to my Father. My Father had the final say and he left His good job and we moved to the UK He was willing to leave a good job and have to work minimum wage jobs for the good of his family. That's what leadership is. And that's why it's important to have a man with foundations built upon the Word of God. This is One of the best examples of what true leadership is in my life.

@@dwayne1474 Look i never cared if my decisions are right or wrong as long as i’m happy with it. And i am quite a dominant personality myself who loves taking the lead and i won’t change that no matter what. There’s no one size fits it all. Like i feel better as a leader and being independent rather than a follower. Like i love my freedom that’s one thing i won’t trade and if i would ever feel trapped in a relationship i’d most likely cheat(hate to admit that but i dumped many friends bcuz they were controlling) and whenever i deal with controlling ppl such as my father or teachers i lie to them 24/7 telling them I’ll do as they say but then do however i please behind their backs

Beautiful family❤ hello I have a question how do you know when there is unhealthy submission in a marriage? How will you know when a man is overstepping his power and being extremely controlling? And does submission mean I have to always let go of my dreams, desires etc because my husband doesnt like it?.. (Anyone please feel freee to respond)
@themarriagepartnership
@themarriagepartnership 3 жыл бұрын
In answer to your 1st question, we think that unhealthy submission is when there is no honouring and respect . Overstepping would be when the man refuses to listen and value his wife's opinion. Submission doesn't mean you let go of your dreams etc because you are supposed to be a team. Ephesians 5:21 states that you are to submit to one another ! BTW be the first to view our discussion on this subject of 'Submission in Marriage'

I've lately been watching videos about a wife's role in a biblical marriage and I think I'm coming to a conclusion that I will never be a wife. Being a single for the rest of my life wouldn't matter because I have no sexual interest in anyone (probably because I find men physically quite disgusting?). Singleness wouldn't be a problem BUT I would LOVE to have kids! So I'm not sure. An idea of family seems nice to me but if I even think myself as a wife I get VERY anxious. I'm 19 turning 20 soon... I've never wanted to date anyone so I haven't. I don't know what's wrong with me?!

@Stephie_L

I think there should be discussion but the husband had final say even if he is wrong because God is in control. Through mistakes the husband will learn. I've watched men be overpowered by their wives never allowing them to fail and it is not a healthy dynamic at all. Modern society has corrupted God's design. If people want to live by the worlds standards they can but all I've seen is a lot of divorce and disharmony. Submission ultimately belongs to God anyway which Christians should be ok with because he knows best. God sees everything and we will all be judged including the husbands who are poor leaders.

God, then husband, then wife? So I'm not equal to my husband?
@sabrinapage3565
@sabrinapage3565 7 жыл бұрын
You are equal in value, but men and women have different roles. While the husband has the final say, he is advised by the wife, lead by God, and makes decisions that allow the wife and family to flourish. Also, the husband is held responsible by God for the decisions as the leader, while the wife is not. Keep in mind that the wife's role involves advising the husband. He should not make decisions alone because God reveals information to both partners. Side note: I feel like God builds in protection for women as illustrated in this verse. “Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers” (1 Peter 3:7).

Of course! I used to struggle with the same thing. It was not until I had a conversation with J Warner Wallace that I was able to see how cherished woman are in the Bible. That is the truth- Woman are CHERISHED and VALUED by God. I feel that in our society, male traits are more valued because they are more visible. However, women have been entrusted with immense power of their own. For example, take vulnerability. This is something that is considered feminine and "weak" if a man were to show it. However, there are whole TED talks on the power of vulnerability. Women also have an incredible power to encourage and empower others. Men and women have different, but equally important skill sets that complement each other and only together show the Image of God. An attack on the value of women is an attack on the Image of God.

Page Patton Wow, I can't thank you enough for taking the time out of your day to write this. I'm a pretty assertive/dominant/leadership type kind of woman so the man vs woman role in a Godly relationship really resonates with me. Thank you for clarifying the empowerment of women, and our importance. I had a hard time accepting the fact that we must submit to our husbands, but I feel at peace knowing that our roles are in equal value, just served for different purposes.

I don't agreee because i think it is really unfair , how can a person be free to get their own way just because of gender , being a man is so much better than be a woman because when something is just not fair and you speak about it "ur rebelling " all over the bible and over the years women have being put down and men have being exalted, God chose all men, Jesus came down as a man and women are told they can not preach, they restricted and our oppurtunities are restricted and limited as men get their all the way, they are previleged , when ur a kid you have to obey ur parents and some parents don't understands but you obey anyway and even when an adult female you still have to be held to that level still while men get to be leaders and have their own way of everything , if marriage is all about submission and doing what ur husbands wants then i am not ready because i love independence and I love doing my own thing and getting my stuff in order, honestly before i loves relationships and hoping to be married but now i hear" submission " i feel like to run away from marriage

The time the bible was written had old and sexist rules and Laws and The bible Was written with these laws in mind, we SHOULD NOT hold on to The same type of rules that some of The bible holds on to. People have to adapt When The times changes and The times has CLEARLY changed, and for GOOD reason as Well. I am a Christian and a woman and I do NOT have a single submissive bone in my body, but I am happily married to a kind man and we have The perfect relationship for us. What I am not saying is that woman can't be submissive if Thats What The want THEMSELF, but you have NO RIGHT to order ANY WOMAN to be submissive as we woman are our own person and are in charge of ourself and our lifestyle Choices! And also, welcome to The Modern world Where women CHOSES What THEY want for themself and Where men can chose to be submissive towards a woman IF THATS WHAT THEY WANT!! oh and just a side note, no my husband is not submissive eather

you are sharing your life base on what you think and not what God's word says.

The Word of God never gets old, because he himself said that He is the Word. So how can the Word be antiquated? If we say the Word is old & antiquated, then God is antiquated too? Didn't He say Himself that He does not change? Man changes not God. God is the Word!!

Romans 12:2-3 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. 3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. How can one call themselves a Christian if they don't believe God's word? The bible is not a salad bar, you don't get to pick and choose what you want to believe. We are supposed to become like God, through His word, not like the world.

It's funny you say that because 99% of women are super submissive to get a male partner, which is why the beginnings of relationships are so great. But when you see the true colours of the women and they go from submissive to argumentative, then the relationship goes downhill. You need to read the book of Esther.

Almighty God knows the ultimate way to produce peaceful, calm, faithful, and trouble-free marriages. Mankind's completely 'nutty' liberal way, produces family instability, problem children, endless arguments, flared tempers, insubordination, separation and divorce.
