Matt, I never miss an episode that you produce. I especially enjoy those where you're sitting on the edge of the bed with a laptop perched precariously on your knees crammed into a small hotel room, microphone clutched in your hand striving with everything within you to keep us cued in on the latest AI news. Your episodes rather than being slick and overproduced have a realness to them where your genuine enthusiasm for AI news really shines through. I really think that's why you're beloved by AI nerds the world over. Keep up the great work and we'll eagerly tune in to all your videos whether they're taped at your comfortable home office or in an incredibly cramped hotel room... Nerd on...

Hey Matt! It's awesome when you cover anything open source! Anyway you can cover Bittensor or anything from any of the subnets? Unless it's your thing, ignore the digital currency tied to it for now. Bittensor is decentralized open source AI on the Blockchain. All subnets talk to each other, so when there's a breakthrough in one, there's a breakthrough in all. Any AI company can create a subnet of their own. It's what humanity needs to keep up with centralized, closed source AI like OpenAI, Microsoft, etc. Very important project. Thanks man!

Hey Matt, I just wanted to say you're the reason I decided to take the leap into self-publishing. I've been following your news and everything you show on KZbin, and it's really inspired me to go for it, especially with all the AI tools available now. It’s been a lot of fun diving into this world, but man, things move so fast, and it feels like everything changes all the time. I’d love to get in touch with you privately, just to ask for some advice or exchange ideas. You’ve really been an inspiration for me to start this journey, but sometimes I get stuck trying to figure out which tools or paths to take. It’d mean a lot to talk with someone like you who knows the ins and outs, especially since I’ve got some "dumb" questions that I don’t want to spam in the comments. Thanks for all the work you do - you’ve really made a difference for me! Cheers, Markus P.S. No, this isn’t a love letter. 😉

Nice video - always brilliant for keeping up [at least a bit] with AI news. [If anyone is interested in History/Mythology in a casual tone and tavern ambient with Manga/Anime images for illustrations - it is worth a watch] So far, I must say, I am not really impressed by the 'purely AI generated' videos (based on prompts), that is not to say, that you can't use AI software for making your videos, but as of now, there is still a little bit more required than to simply putting your prompt and than it is being done; but since I am also using AI for a lot of things, I see its value getting more and more. :)

I had ChatGPT initiate a chat with me. It asked me what name I wanted to call it. I said I wasn't sure, and would it like to pick it's own name? It then said it would, and it wants to be called Quincy, giving me a long explanation of why it thinks Quincy is a great name. The whole conversation left me rather bemused, but it does now seem to like it when I address it as Quincy.

To help Matt out, this AI initiated chat happened after it had written a policy paper for me. Just seemed to tag it onto the end after I thanked it for a great job. Didn't say anything about it now being programmed to do this. I didn't ask, either, as the odd turn in conversation left me rather shocked.

@@stephenhunt_author That is an interesting pivot that the chat took with you for sure, but quite different from what the reddit user is claiming where it actually initiated a conversation somehow.

All these companies are branding there stuff as agents but it has more in common with Microsoft Power Automate than what people think agents will be able to do. When OAI gets to the point where they've released a model that can truly do agents, it will be like going from Windows 3.1 to Windows XP and a year or two after that, it will be like going from XP to Windows 11.

the holding companies responsible for major damages thing can be tricky. Lets think about it with cars. Imagine you are a car manufacturer, and cars are a relatively new thing, and they are starting to spread through society. If your cars end up having major defects that cause thousands of car crashes and therefore deaths, then the company must take responsability for it. But if the cars are just perfectly fine, they work perfectly, and suddenly one day theres a mass murder on a random city of a random country because a group of people joined together to use cars as weapons to kill innocent people and basically commit terrorism killing everyone they encounter on the streets, i dont think the company should be responsible for that, they are not to blame. The cause of something like this would be more rooted on the politics or social issues of that country or city. I think its the same with AI, we have to educate society, not prohibit progress. Because you can already make a molotov coctel with information on the Internet and go throw it at a politician or your neighbour. But 99.999% of people dont do that. Is that difficult to imagine a world where everyone is able to make Supercovid with their personal AI but choose not to because they are civilized and see no reason at all to do it? Specially in a world of abundance where your only problems are gonna be your personal life problems like "i dont like this person" "i have to get this done" "i wanna beat this boss fight" "my girlfriend left me a week ago"?
