Finding magnetite in this subnautica is about like trying to find a needle in a haystack honestly. I swear I remember it being abundant in the first one

In case you find it difficult to find the "tower rock" shown in the video, it is quite close to the signal location "Architect last known location" (If you progressed somewhat into the story line). You need to swim around a bit and more down from the signal location, if you find it then you can dive down as the video shows. It helps to have a second air tank in the inventory that you can swap in if you need it or a seatruck with at least depth upgrade MK1 (or you park your seatruck more up and dive down yourself).

Tip: Look at the walls of this trench from its sides to spot the magnetite easier as it sticks out as a triangle from the wall. looking straight on at the wall is way harder, magnetite is the same color as the wall

Subnautica tip if you are in your see truck or prawn suit qnd have low calorie or water once you start taking damage you should get out and wait until you drown so then you respawn in your see truck/prawn suit you respawn with full water and calorie this wont work on hardcore and you have to get out or it will send you to your base

tl;dr on the underside of the omega station rock near Marge's base there is some magnetite. If you go down some more you'll find even more.

Can confirm, this guide is 100% accurate :) FYI for those who are beginning, it's super easy to get your MK2 depth module for your Seatruck. This takes you to 500m depth and you can easily follow this vid.

Please can you tell me where to find synthetic fibres? I've tried in the big jellyfish things but all I got was spiral chunks - I think they've updated it so the fibres are in a different location.

@@3960xRocks You can create synthetic fibers by combining rubies and spiral chunks. You make them using the fabricator. Hope you come right!

Thank you this was helpful. Just for info it is possible to get in ore veins in the glacial basin. I found this easier on my new game because I was impatient and wanted my HUD chip before I was able to get very deep. Just make sure to have a flare as the earliest one I can find has a snow stalker in the same cave.

Thank you very much, I was earching like crazy for Megnetite. In the first game it was also rare, but not like this. And I even was at this "rock tower structure" before but overlooked it. I did not have two ultr-ahigh air tanks back then and a seatruck with deep dive upgrades :-)

Well I just went down in the area depicted in this video today 7-28-2020 & found zip anywhere for Magnetite...went down to the base & kept going...all the way down to 500M & swam down to well over 600M into leviathan territory...found lots of quartz & lithium, as well as a bit of copper but nadda for Magnetite:( Spent a lot of time down there going over the walls with a fine tooth comb but no joy.

@@GranddaddyGamer Well I never had trouble finding or seeing it in Subnautica, but either it didn't spawn in my game or I'm just plain blind:) Anyway I went down there 3 different times & noticed a distinct lack of any mineral deposits until down below 400m...hell of a lot of sea monkeys on the way down...all waiting with their greedy little paws for me to get out of the sea-truck carrying a piece of equipment LOL. Anyway your video guides are the best & there's no problem following your directions so I can't imagine, if it's there, not finding any? I think I checked every square inch of that place too.

For synthetic fibers you need a specific plant. Its found in Purple vents deep down in a cavern. You will see alien tech. I found quite a few plants near there.

There are 2 places where a lot of Magnetites, the Crystal cavern and the Glacier areas on the surface. Since it is not wise to go to Crystal cavern early, instead build a Prawn suit and go exploring the Glacier area. Southern Glacier area is safe, no Leviathan there, the only danger are the cold and the Snow stalkers. Since you are inside a Prawn suit, Snow stalkers are no threat at all.

I found 3 pieces before i had to swim up and I died and lost all my magnetite because my fucking Seatruck vanished. Can squidsharks destroy vehicles. I had mine a good way into the trench and i didn't hear a thing

It does take damage and if you dont ever repair it it can and will get destroyed

Its there.. its hard to see .. but if you still have trouble turn on "highlight interactable" when u get close it will glow. You can turn this on in the options menu
