Consider doing an update on how it drives. Maybe even include test drives in the videos. I love the format of showing work being done. It might work to do a short of the lift going in and how it handles after.

@@JK-yn1dzHey guys I did this to my AWD 2011 last year. About 9k miles on it since the lift. It handles far worse than it did before the lift (expected). But it is super Cool. To me it feels like it reacts slowly and sloppy at highway speeds, not as bad below 50mph. You can drive @75 but I try to keep it at 70 to be more safe. If asked if I would do it again... 💯 Yes. It puts a smile on my face every time I see it in parking lot and especially when parked near other normal minivans.

Nice video, however it seems that dropping the rear differential with spacers kind of defeats the purpose of the lift in the first place. Sure, the van overall is higher up, but if the diff is still at (near) stock ground clearance, what’s the point?

Is there some instructions/ manual as to how much you torque the bolts that were removed to remount them
@jeremyking39862 ай бұрын
Instead of doing this to my 05 2wd, I was just going to get a suburban 🤷🏻♂️ I didn’t think it would give me the ground clearance that I want, there’s some roads I couldn’t do stock. And mine isn’t AWD, although I know they sell the kit for mine. As much as I love my Sienna for the room and mileage, I think I’m just going to get a sequoia or Tahoe. I’m not looking to rock crawl, but I want to get out in the back country, maybe 20-40 miles out some rough forest roads.
@suboverland2 ай бұрын
Ya the suburban will always have better ground clearance.

I'm in the same boat but I have a 04 Sequoia looking to get into a Sienna! I want to do this exact kit with the GTRV roof conversion pop top. I think it will be perfect for me, the wife, and the pup (85lb Golden) to continue on our National Park / Monuments tour (we've done 7 NP so far in the last year) and weekend hunting / hiking / camping trips. My Sequoia is on 33" Falken Wildpeak AT with a 2" lift and I'm averaging 14.5MPG. We rented a Chrysler pacific this spring to hit Acadia NP while I was in the middle of doing the wheel bearings on my Sequoia (it's at 192k miles and runs like a top, just fighting a little bit of rust and wear items now) and the MPG and more room of the van is unbelievable. I have the 3rd row taken out of my truck and only keep the 60% of the back seat to seatbelt the dog into. Just a bit of input from someone in the same but opposite boat as you!

It looks great. Are you building it out as a camper. I'd love to see an update video. I've been thinking of getting rid of my 2001 Chevy Express 2500 camper van and getting a Toyota Sienna and lifting it and building a camper out in the back.

We will see what happens. For now we just did the mechanical and are seeing who reserves it.

Been scoping this kit for the longest time for the battle wagon. FWD 2015, not looking to rock crawl with it, but stock departure angles suck around town AND at 6’0 tall I am constantly crashing my head into the back hatch when open. Hoping the lift might be a step to addressing these shortcomings of the Sienna 😄

It's a great kit. You'll definitely accomplish those goals.

How different is the driving performance after lifting? I will do this when I have one to use for van camping. Thank you!

Grady this so cool! Just curious as to if there is a way to recalibrate the speedometer after installing the lift with the bigger tires? Was there a significant decrease in MPG’s also?
@suboverland2 ай бұрын
Speedometer was actually really close. I got about 20 mpg on my last road trip. My guess is that it will decrease by 5-10%

TO GRADY: I’ve been following your channel for a few years, and while I like the Suburbans, I think the cargo space of the Sienna is what I need to live in full time traveling (and I hope better gas mileage). I am interested in this, would like to know a few things from you. I don’t currently own a Sienna but am interested in them and a lift If I get one. I’m not mechanical. 1. With those tires, wheels, and lift kit, how much total real ground clearance is there now under the Sienna? I know you said 3.5 inch kit, but that did not include the tires and wheels. 2. If I buy a Sienna, and bring it to you to do the install, how much will it cost for the kit and your install? I know prices may change over time, just need a rough estimate at this point for budget. 3. Would the total cost be less for a 2WD Sienna done by your shop? 4. Once you get it going, what kind of realistic gas mileage do you get with the Sienna (before/after)? Does the lift and tires seriously lower mileage?
@suboverland2 ай бұрын
Thanks! Sounds like a sienna would be a good option for you. Feel free to send me an email at support@suboverland.com and I can answer your questions.

The lift kit is about 800ish. Then add tires/wheels. Also when I did mine I replaced all the shocks and had to do the front brakes (because they were bad).
