A lot of people have been saying that beach house doesn't change their sound enough, and this sounds like everything else that they've made. But something about that, I love. I love that they found this amazing sound and decided to make it their own. With Victoria's melancholic voice and the lonely, psychedelic instrumentals, would you really WANT this band to change? They're one of the few bands that I've loved everything from. I hope they still keep this sound and perfect it with every album.
@aamirqazi96538 жыл бұрын
+Vojta K. I know right? Fans are weird sometimes. If they would have changed their sound, they would have complained about how they love their old music more and they shouldn't have changed. Sigh. Experimentation is nice, but sometimes consistency is good too.

I think the songwriting and melodies on this album were actually strong enough to say they did change, like a lot of the singing is lighter. I like Beach House a lot but this album in particular wowed me. Its certainly familiar, but Days of Candy and Beyond love are really powerful. Sine bands need a change but I think as longs as the songs are good and stand up well with earlier work its fine. I like Cloud Nothings and Real Estate and they take a similar evolution rather than revolution approach, though I will say Real Estate are getting a little tired sounding to me. But your right, its reassuring as long as its as good as this. When its not that its "why cant they sound like their old stuff", so its hard to win.

I played this album as the plane took off when I moved to live in another country about two years ago. Emotions started pouring out as Levitation played. It was the beginning of a new and unfamiliar life. I knew I was going to feel alone being far away from my mom and friends, but it was at this moment that I began being afraid of the fact that it may take years before I get to be with them again. Or that I might never. This album still makes me cry. What a beautiful creation.

@bobpero29826 жыл бұрын
The Endless Blue just a week ago (on Christmas Eve) my grandmother, my rock, my only solid foundation I’ve ever known in my life amongst an infinite sea of wrinkled canvas of darkness, turbulence and unfamiliarity. she showed me the strength I needed at all the right times. She was always there for me when my mothers gambling was more important than me or when my fathers never ending black hole of anger consumed him to the point of beating me in the excuse of his love for me. And the result every time was me running, running as fast as I can out of the house in the middle of the night sometimes with only the shirt on my back and the pajamas that covered my legs that couldn’t stop trembling in fear. as early as 10 years old, i ran, ran as fast as I could from the the lies that had plagued my young tormented life. And the direction I ALWAYS ran towards was the only direction I knew where my REAL HOME was located. In the dead of winter of 30* nights or the middle of scorching summer heat waves sometimes 85* after midnight I just FUCKING RAN, and her door was always open and I could always find the open arms of my REAL MOTHER who had never hurt even a fly, and her wisdom and guidance was never ending, she never stopped loving, and caring was the fabric of her existence and I have lost this place to which I have always called HOME and most importantly I will forever have the love and wisdom that I could always confide in captured and locked away in my heart but I have lost her presence in my life and now I have to face my mother’s selfish GREED at the door that was always open for me but is now slammed in my face. Even the night she passed, I was slammed kin the face by the same door, the door I could always count on, the same door I helped my grandfather build as a child is now my barrier that will forever haunt my dreams when I’m trying to find my grandmother. That fucking door is my nightmare and I just want so badly to say that I loved her to the ends of the earth and into that infinite beyond... and even the day of her passing, I was slammed in the face by that god damned door by my own brother has now too become the selfish inhuman person that will forever haunt my dreams for denying me as well... I haven’t been able to have a single positive dream since she has passed away since a week ago 12-24-17 and I just desperately wish to find her someday in my dreams and tell her the things I was repeatedly denied the right to.... this will carry in my heart forever as the most hurtful wrong doing to me of my entire life...

I saw Beach House live at Webster Hall last week. Guys, I was on a different planet. And no I do not do drugs. I want to live those emotions again and again, and I think it can only happen when I listen to Beach House. They opened with "Beyond Love" from Depression Cherry. Alex was riffing on the guitar, the background black and ghastly, matching perfectly with the melody. Then Victoria walks out dressed in white, looking like a ghost, and for a moment the audience was paralyzed into one breathing soul until she sang with that melancholy voice of hers. We broke and followed along with her. It was unbelievable. I've been to many shows, many fun, but Beach House was an experience and lively in a way I cannot even describe.

the first time I heard a song for beach house it was 10 mile stereo 5 years ago and it was an experience like I literally kept on listening to it for days and months even , the feelings the flood of emotions it never stopped every time I listen time stops and I start imagining all kinds of scenarios and memories keep rushing it's like I am in a whole different place and when the song ends I come back from that place .. here i'm after all this time and still getting the same experience and the feelings I had 5 years ago ... I love beach house

Melancholy is just one of my dark touchy feely traits. I've been this way since I was a little kid. I look at everything knowing nothing is forever except the experience. That must be why I'm drawn to this music? It's like blissful melancholy. Anyone see their world this way, like everything is cinematic dreamy nostalgia? Could be the impermanence of everything? Look around you. This is it. Maybe it is just a dream? I don't know what to do with it now. Run around the world without a care in mind...that's kinda what I'm doing.....wandering. It's all another entrancing vanishing experience, one after the next.

This album makes me feel nostalgic and my existence becomes appreciated. I started college in the fall but during my junior year of high school my friends and I would lay in my bed and “teleport” while listening to this on vinyl. I know that it wasn’t too long ago that we did this but it feels like a lifetime ago and listening to this on my phone in the dorm room makes me feel at peace and connected to myself and appreciative of life and everything that surrounds me. I don’t know if my thoughts make sense to anyone but basically I enjoy this album and it’s refreshing to hear when I sometimes lose myself

My 16-year-old daughter has gotten heavy doses of Beach House since infancy--mostly Teen Dream and Bloom--and as a three-year-old, she'd even hum the melody of "Used to Be" to me when I asked her what her BH favorite track was. Despite all of this, she came to me 1-2 years ago and was like, "Do you know that band Beach House?" I was like, "Well, I took shots of whiskey with Victoria Legrand and chatted about the merits of Black Dice's Beaches & Canyons with her before her show like a decade ago, so yeah, that ri vs a bell." She then told me that everyone was going crazy over "Space Song," and I'm like, how does this even happen!? I love that they're appealing to such a strange demographic as teenaged kids, but it just surprises me that out of their whole discography, "Space Song" is the winner. "Beyond Love" and "PPP" are quite a lot better, and if they're picking from older albums, "10-Mile Stereo" has and always will be the correct answer. I guess TikTok has a hand in it, and my 44-year-old ass won't pretend to know the first thing about any of that.
@oldmansamsay10232 жыл бұрын
Space Song resonates with them. It's asking questions they ask, questions with no answer, questions that make no sense. It encapsulates this state of mind where just about every question you have ever asked is being answered, hence the falling into place, but all the new questions are even more overwhelming. They managed to find the exact sound that represents how teenagers are feeling, as a teenager myself, I can say this.
