I was coding. Deep in a developer's trance. Spotify was playing in the background. I probably hadn't heard a single note in over an hour. Then 1:27 happened. I'm not a stupid man. I recognize fourteen seconds of heaven when I hear it. The whole song is fantastic, but those fourteen seconds are sublime. And I thank them for that.
@clintondurfee92059 жыл бұрын
I couldn't agree more. The song as whole is great, but that small but such perfect interjection of Charity's vocals just anchors that song, and wraps you into the beauty of the chorus at just the right moment.

Every time I find myself moving too fast i always sit and listen to this song. Then I am still, if only for a moment. I actually cried when I heard it live. I was standing there, in a sea of people. Embracing my father. Tears of pure joy rolling down my face. Blue and green lights shining over head. It was perfect.

I was born and raised in a small village, raised as a nomad until the age of 6. After that, I've lived in big cities throughout my whole life(excluding college). I always find myself attracted back to Nature's Beauty and Quiet Places. It's as if time doesn't exist and I can get lost in the moment with either myself or the people that are most important to me. City life is fun and all with it's radiant lights, but everyone looks so busy and rarely stops to enjoy the small little things in life.

A friend sent me this. Here we are in 2020. The World is amid Corona Virus/COVID-19 pandemic. Unchartered territory for most of us. The World is still, with quarantines and required "stay at home" orders. This song hits home, right now. Being still, and realizing how much love, understanding, family, and true friendship matters. Bless all. ✌❤☮

This is why I keep coming back to indie rock/folk. The fact that it sounds good to my ears, obviously, but also the very real, grounded, introspected themes and messages. Musical catharsis and/or meditation. A hard thing to find in most other genres.

This song is genuine. It's one of the best songs i have come across in a long time. We all need to slow down and reflect on whats important in life and in the end its how we love, who we laugh with, and how we treated each other for the short time we are here on this earth.

@carpediem77124 жыл бұрын
For me, precisely because of the message of the song, I find it’s best to ‘listen’ to it than to ‘see’ whatever video it may have. Because we all have a different interpretation of how and what ‘be still’ means for us. If we listen only then we can each add our own ideal visual interpretation to the text the artist composed, which is, let’s agree out of this world. Images can distract from the message and the essence of this brilliant composition.

Gods, how I wish we could just be still...

You can get lost in the music for hours, honey, You can get lost in a room. We can play music for hours and hours But the sun'll still be coming up soon The world's just spinning A little too fast If things don't slow down soon we might not last. So just for the moment, let's be still. You can get lost in the music for hours, honey, You can get lost in a room. We can play music for hours and hours But the sun'll still be coming up soon. The world's not forgiving Of everyone's fears. The days turn into months, the months turn into years. So just for the moment, let's be still They're tearing down So we can rebuild And all this time Is just circles in my mind So just for a moment, Just for one moment, Just for a moment let's be still Just for a moment let's be still Just for a moment let's be still Just for a moment let's be still. The world's just spinning A little too fast If things don't slow down soon we might not last. The world's not forgiving Of everyone's fears. The days turn into months the months turn into years. So just for a moment, let's be still Just for a moment let's be still. Just for a moment let's be still. Just for a moment let's be still. Just for a moment let's be still. Just for a moment let's be still. Just for a moment let's be still.

The intro is great, For those, who have woken up to a dog staring you in the face. You know he/she loves you more then anything, but they really need to pee, and you are just to damn tired or its to cold to want to get out of bed. But yet you do, even if just to let them out on their own to do their business. The real meaning of the song is much deeper, but the intro always gets me. Although, as my dog gets older he gets lazier then me at times. I have to wake him up to go for walkies sometimes... Besides I think the gal singing in this video has a sexy singing voice...
