Is this going to be a play list of set theory videos? If so I REALLY hope you cover the Paeno axioms and Cantor's diagnoalisation proof of the different types of infinity. That really deepened my understanding of what mathematics was about and deserves to be more widely know as it isn't that hard.

This is so simple for us only because we have been so close to it physically and have had so many minds & pens make it simple for us . Is C a superset of A? Because earlier you said that it's not a subset, but in this case we change the notation of the problem.

I have kind of a weird question. How was this recorded? I work for a university, and we're trying to figure out a way to record a prof working through a problem, exactly like what this instructor is doing. We've tried touch-panel monitors; however, they're very awkward and don't work well. Any ideas would really be appreciated.

If A = 1 2 3 5 and B = 1 1 2 3 would B be a subset of A? (I apologize for omitting the mathematical notation, KZbin says that I cannot post "ascii art".
@matthewtheobald12313 жыл бұрын
Never seen proper subset denoted that way. I've always seen it as the ⊆ without a line under it like this "⊂"

will a set still be a subset to another set if there is one extra element not in the other set. for example A= (1,2,3) B = ( 1,2,4 ). So will B still be a subset of A even though there is an element that is not in A?

Use a tablet or a bamboo tablet with a pen (it's own pen). I have those and they usually used by animators. And this can be recorded by any good screen recorders like camtasia... that's all I got.

Can B be a subset of A and A be a subset of B at the same time? If so what is an example?
@youreaphagatron7 жыл бұрын
Yes, but it would have to be a STRICT subset of A (A contains all of B and some) and a subset of B (B = B).

i dont get it.we have subset and strict subset. subset is when all of B is in A.strict subset is when all of B is in A and there are other elements in A. so by this logic the only time when B isnt a strict subset of A is when they are equal? why then have a normal subset if you can just use equals sign? Coz you cannot have B is a subset of A if there isnt the same or more numbers in A than in B. and when there is more in A its a strict subset,when its not its equal.i dont get it? why use subset?
@fountainovaphilosopher81125 жыл бұрын
Why use greater than or equal to sign when there already exist signs which cover both relations? This is basically the same question but with different set of relations. The thing is, those relations are still sometimes useful. I mean who knows, you might, one day, run into a task with two unknown sets A and B for which there is a property A is a subset of B, but not necessarily strict, all you know is that A is a subset of B,and then you need to prove some property. Idk if I explained this well enough but you may understand what I exactly mean.
