Thanks a lot Mr. After all the goodness you have shown in the forums, it's finally really nice to see those nodes happening in action : )

Those who are looking for work around regarding edge detect. Follow this > From Starting till Bevel . 1.Use Cells 4 (Distance & Distort 50 or as you wish to control shell size) + Dirt6 2.Add Output to Directional Wrap (Intensity 50-55) 3.Add Output to Edge Detect (Edge Width 1, Edge Roundness 0 ) 4.Add Output to Blur HQ Grayscale (Intensity .06) + Blur (Intensity .2) 5. Add Output to Blend . foreground> Blur HQ Grayscale / Background> Blur Mode (Multiply) 6. Add Output to Bevel >Distance ( -0.02 or -0.03 ) GOT IT.

Hi Hugo, I will beg you if you can please please show how you made the leaves that you have on your portfolio made in Substance Designer ("Procedural leaves - Substance Designer")please. I am an amateur environment artist and I will be very grateful if you make a video covering more and more SD tutorials. You are a brilliant artist. Thanks

Thanks a ton for putting this together man. I'm much more of a color painter than a node texturer and this helps. :) Look forward to more.

Thanks man, if you have any ideas on what you would like to see, I'm open for ideas.

Thank you so much for this tutorial!! I'm having some problem finding the "non-uniform-blur-grayscale", I can't find it on my Libray. Anyone having the same issue? I'm using SD 5.5.1

A lot people asked for a fix, and Nicolas from Allegorithmic fixed the edge detect on the 5.1 version! :) Just wanted everyone to know.

Hey I'm surprised that 1886 didn't use Substance - did you folks use quixel or something else?
@hugobeyer9 жыл бұрын
We did not, we used Zbrush and our own composite system.

I was wondering... I watched one of the webinar video's from Allegorithmics YT channel, and the tutor was saying a lot of artists are not basing their albedo on real measured values. I was surprised your leather turned out so well, because the albedo was pretty dark to me. So my question is: are you familiar with the '30/50 to 240 range' of PBR albedo color usage, and did you use it in this material?
@hugobeyer9 жыл бұрын
***** Well, I did not, I went by eye. But the more you do PBR materials you end up getting used to colors and what's necessary. Really good question tho.

So I don't know what I've missed/done wrong but I couldn't match at the bevel stage, this is what the node gave me, i.imgur.com/MYD1U0t.jpg

Hey Hugo, Very nice tutorial! I saw a lot of texture work on polycount and artstation from you, your textures are looking just amazing. I'm wondering if you could do a nice substnace wood tutorial, i found a texture from The Order 1886 which looks really cool and i'm asking myself for a few days how to realize some of this effect. Looking forward to see more tutorials from you, best wishes, adik i57.tinypic.com/111j86s.jpg
