Great stuff Joseph! Quick question, how did you approach learning this program? It's quite confusing at first to understand what tools to use for desired results. Did you just follow tutorials and learn along the way? I feel slightly dumb for following button clicks without fully understanding the tool itself. Trying to be original without really understanding seems frustrating at best. This is a powerful tool but feel slightly overwhelmed. Is following tutorials closely and adjusting to meet your needs a good approach to learning this program? It seems like there isn't any other way but I'm completely new to procedural workflow as well.

Best way to learn is to jump in and get your feet wet. Theres many ways to do the same thing in substance. There's definitely an art to it... How does a painter know which brush to use? You have to test all the tools and functions for yourself. No explanation written or otherwise will really explain what the outcome will be. In substance I experienced a lot of "happy accidents".

thanks for the quick response man! Yeah it seems to be alot of trial and error and finding what works. I’m sure there are tons of different ways to do the same task. Substance painter was much easier to learn due to being a little more intuitive. I’ll keep plugging away and learn from asset to asset. Thanks again, great tutorial :)
