The best tutorial about rendering in marmoset I've ever seen. I finally start to understand. Thanks a lot, bro!

Occlusion maps should have sRGB off, because these maps are greyscaled and dont to have gamma correction (amma correct is with sRGB). But that occl maps just do some shadowing, but its nice to have it. Just Albedo should have sRGB on, because it has colors. Other BW or greyscale maps should be linear. Sure also exporting from Painter should have the right settings. Nice video, man. I am trying texturing in Toolbag and its great (I have Painter and Mari). But I cant figure out how to do some height painting in Marmoset. I am using height channel and brushes in Painter for little tweaking ZBrush models. Thanks for very good video.

You did a very nice job. You're a good artist so your artistic decisions are sound (similar to what I would do really) and you have a very good understanding of Marmoset Toolbag v4. Thanks for explaining some of the important basics. Noted on not flipping the roughness map. I guess that's why you had shine coming out of the handle grooves eh? Another feature you may want to cover (and perhaps you already have) is how to export something like this axe to a stand-alone Marmoset viewer...where it's real-time in its own little window for use on Art Station or something. Nice work!

Hi RBGore! Do you know why stripes appear on my normal map, made in the marmoset!? They are stripes that follow the topology of the model, it was not supposed to appear, only the deformations. The model is all scratched. The model was made in maya. It cost.

Hmm It sounds like a smoothing groups issue Or you may need to flip the Y Channel in your Normal map in toolbag.

OMG you solved my problem! I was having an issue with the roughness values on my model, turns out I had to change my ORM texture to not be in sRGB, thanks for that!

Hello, thanks for the video. I have a question, say if I want to render multiple angles of my model, what's the best way to do it ? Do I just rotate/move my model after each render or create multiple camera and set up the lighting for each camera all over again ?

Glad found the Video helpful! I recommend throwing your camera, Lights, and Model in a Group Folder. then you can duplicate that group, Hide/ lock the original group, and tweak the model lights and camera in the new group. Then you can turn on and off the groups when you need to render them.

You should probably upgrade your substance painter from 2019 to 2021 if you are going to do videos on it.
