Great idea for these interview videos, well done ;-) This area has lost most tourist nightlife to the riverside areas, which is a shame as it had been somewhat redeveloped a few years ago, but I heard the new rents were too high. When I first visited Phnom Penh in 2008, it was arguably 'the' nightlife spot (and even during the day at The Walkabout lol) Even Pontoon club moved from the riverside to be there. But it's looking much better again so I'll give it a retry when I'm over in a couple of months. Cheers mate!

It's been demolish the whole two city blocks including the Pontoon in September and over the next 2 years 3 more city blocks will be demolished they are building a new Phnom Penh city like they did with Sihanoukville wider streets, it's a $3+ Billion Dollar project,

Sad to hear that western men are treating the girls badly. Why is that? Alcohol, money? When I was in Thailand, I spent the night with a bar girl. Initially it was going to be for a couple of hours but we ended up watching tv. She was showing me Thai soap operas and I was showing her British comedy shows. Because I was showing her respect she spent all night with me until the following day afternoon without any extra 'bar fine' Hopefully visiting Cambodia this year now that Covid restrictions have lifted.

G'Day mate , sad to finally see sorya mall fall to the building over development going on there ! it was bound to happen but at least i've got many memories of the fun nights playing pool and chatting to every one there , they did try to reinvent there (PUB STREET) but got caught up in over pricing rents !! then the rona took its inevitable toll , I hope to be back before its all gone , To Pontoon , walkabout hotel and all the other bars n clubs that were there Thanks for the good times.. They are rebuilding Phnom Penh city this is the start wider Streets more parks trees High rise apartments, Hotels, office towers, next will be 3 more city blocks it will be like Sihanoukville being rebuild looks like a modern 21 century city now
