What do you guys recommend for sticking ground cover to the foam? I am trying to build my first layout.

We recommend covering the SubTerrain Foam with Plaster Cloth or Shaper Sheet before applying Ground Cover. Then use Scenic Cement, which is what we recommend on our instructions. What can I do to make it look like it's made of bricks?

You can achieve the look of a brick texture by using a fine tip permanent marker or lead pencil. The markings from both of these could represent cement or mortar. You could also use the blunt end of a fine tip paintbrush, according to the following steps: 1.) Use your pencil and ruler to make horizontal lines on the foam. The spacing between the lines will be the height of your bricks. 2.) Along the bottom of the wall you can make vertical marks for the width of the brick, keeping in mind that bricks are usually wider than they are tall. 3.) Using the vertical markings as a gauge, draw the vertical lines every other row, then mark additional lines half way between the markings on the alternate rows. 4.) Paint the foam with Top Coat or Undercoat pigments. Dilute these with water to create a color wash. Weathering can be added using Black Earth Colors Liquid Pigment color wash on top of the first color. It is best to experiment on scrap foam before marking and coloring the actual piece. The doll house people sell tape that's cut with tiny brick pattern. You make a paste , coat it on, peel the tape, and it leaves brick pattern and texture behind. By coloring the paste you control the color of the bricks. The paint under is the mortar so plan ahead.
