January 2020 update: Unfortunately, this product will not prevent a puncture. A medium-sized thorn was able to penetrate straight through the product, which caused a slow puncture. It might reduce the risk of a puncture, but is far from foolproof. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend this product.

have you tried any other products? - just I've ordered an ebike with 2.6" wheels...the rims aren't tubeless compatible... :(

I have liners and flatout. That combo is great 4k miles no flats so far. If something gets through the liner the flatout will seal the puncture

The only liners that actually work are the hard plastic ones. Those softer plastic and the "Kevlar" ones are absolutely useless. You have to wrap the hard plastic liners in duct tape to protect the tube from the sharp edges. I have, slime tubes and hard plastic liners. I haven't had a puncture in 13 years. But that setup isn't for everyone.

I use them for years with semi slick tires and they have saved me for many times from a flat tire. On my way to work and back the biggest problem are very small pieces of broken beer-bottles. I´ve pulled out so many times that deep penetrating little glass-thornes out of the tire with my leatherman. The tire has some cuts but the z-liner protected the inner tube from holes perfectly. I recommend them for anyone and will not miss them anymore ! The only problem i had, was to keep them in the right position during the installation. But i just used some pieces of double adhesive tape and it worked perfectly !

Do you live in Russia too?) Broken beer bottles... Sounds familiar to me. I began to pick up pieces of broken glass on my bike routes recently. I hate those idiots who smash the bottles on the pavement.

Same in England, I do food delivery so lose money through punctures, might have to go for tubeless. I already have tubeless ready wheel, just need a tire and sealent

I've seen soo many comments from people claiming that they can move inside the tire and even somehow cut through inner tubes, but I never had such issues. Straight up best bike related purchase I ever did - granted, they wont save tires without anti puncture belt, but added to ones with at least basic protection will end with buletproofe setup. Only puncture I got since was when I used Schwalbe tire worn down to inner belt in couple spots, but at this point it was my fault, I should've changed it already. And all that for less than 100g per wheel, when extra protection tires cost too much and often weight even around 1kg. Many saved days in food delivery.

What i did was use masking tape to line on top of the liner .i had no problems

The most important thing when fitting these, I have not so far seen on any tube, is that the two ends MUST NOT overlap. There should be a small gap left between the ends. this can be seen on the instructions that are briefly caught on camera in the video. If they do overlap, they pinch the tube & split it. When I fitted mine some years ago, the reviews of similar products were negative, with many photos showing tube damage, all because they would not read and follow the instructions. I tried to be clever, overlapping and then covering the overlap with silver aluminium tape. It did not work & the tube was damaged. Please do not try & be clever.

Old inner tube is better than a tire liner. Cut and use the outside half of your old inner tube and glue with rugby to the outside of the new inner tube. Make sure to partially inflate the new inner tube before gluing. Your tire is now indestructible.

I did this, but in some cases, when the thorn stuck in the tire, it caused the tube to puncture after a while. It seems better to use a thicker polyurethane tape

The PU liner is not punture proof. Use a smilar size metal sheet with doublesided tape instead.

You dont leave a 2cm gap, this is to get the correct size. you run the tape on the out side of the tire cut it 2cm short then once in the tire should be correct size with no gaps.

You need a gap, else it pinches the tube, tearing it.

I had several of these in different dimensions and my experiences with this product is really bad. I had more punctures caused by liner then by other sources. Liner will often impress on tube and in some cases puncture tube with it sharp edges

That's why I would recommend using talcum powder to create a layer between the liner and the tube. If a small split does appear in the liner, it's less likely to damage the inner tube, in my experience. The only downside, when you do get a puncher you have to thoroughly clean the inner tube and make sure it free from talcum powder, unless you cannot apply a patch.

im going too double up these liners on my tire, and buy another twin back for my front wheel, i have a damaged back tire i have new tyres but it is too tight too put on im struggling and everytime i've tried i popped the inner tube and had to start over, so going to double these up in my backwheel at an attempt for my tyres too last longer, they are smooth road wheels, my ebike is also extra heavy, and i won't pump it up too hard, since flints/glass on the road puncture hard tyres easy, and thorns puncture soft tyres, it's not a mountain bike, mostly road, not many thorns so ill keep it at 50-60psi. i need this bike reliable, because it's for getting to and home from work, flat tyres are annoying, but also i do carry replacement tubes and all the gear i need, but i really don't want to have to stop at the side of the road to repair. in my opinion this product looks like it's suitable for protecting against sharp stones/flint glass, not thorns, if you want protected from thorns, buy a thin titanium foil strip 0.5mm, and sandwich it together with this and some gaffa tape, i'm going too make my own extra reinforced liner after some research, layer of kevlar, this product, then a thin titanium strip as the last line of protectionl, this adds weight and maybe the ride is more uncomfortable but i have an ebike so it has extra power.

This liner is only good preventing tyre and inner tube from an exploding puncture. But not sharp objects from outside

All these tire liner products do not look like they are thick or rigid enough to stop anything. I'm in the market for a new bike and I'm going to try to line tire with a 1/8th inch strip of HDPE I happen to have. It is much more rigid.

They are too thin when used with tires without protection, but really makes a difference when paired with basic protection tires, for example Schwalbes with k-guard. Used to have flat tire at least 2 times a month and after instaling I had only one puncture on tire I used to inner belt poking through.

I got loads of thorns in my tyres. I fitted some green liners and did not get another puncture. They are not foolproof, but they certainly save many punctures
