What you said about how much makeup the younger (than me, and I'm almost 60) speaks so true to me. I am so overwhelmed by the array of products because I grew up thinking lip gloss was good enough for me. I'm learning and discovering makeup at such a late age! I really laughed a lot through this video (with you, not at you!) I’m an older millennial and yeah, I remember my mom giving me a book when I was a teen from Jane Seymour about how to do make up. And we did have the internet then but weren’t looking up things like how to do make up. We were doing research for school and chat rooms, and only for relatively short times bc of dial up. Lol Anyway I didn’t “discover” KZbin make up tutorials until I was legitimately 30-ish and I’m sure I learned stuff but now I’m almost 38 and basically every day I do my make up and think to myself “is this right? Does this look good! This is what the women are doing right??” 😂

Thank for reviewing this product. I agree with you that the lip color was too light/pink for you. I truly want to thank you for talking about L’Oréal Nature’s blush lipstick color! I have been trying to find a lip color for years. The pinks are too bright. The corals, reds, etc all turn orange on me or are too dark. I was using mauve/plum which didn’t turn orange, but it did nothing for my face. I found the Natures blush today and I love it. Finally a lip color that works for me! I never thought of going more brown. Thank you!!!

Oh that makes me so happy! It's an absolutely perfect neutral color and although when I film I generally go for something darker, for everyday it's what I ALWAYS wear.

I know you probably didn‘t intend for this to be funny, but when you said „I don‘t see the point of that, but someone does“ I lost it. You summed up my inner monologue for the ~1 time a year inner when I /have to/ put on a full face. I was applying my makeup with subtl for the first time while watching your video. I’m blown away! It didn’t feel cheap and I liked how creamy it was. I could totally do this on the plane, train or car. I did find myself only using my finger to apply (thank you Bobbi Brown) and didn’t even use the brush. I like it so far. I’d like to see how long the look lasts.

I applaud your courage! I rarely wear any makeup. (If I'm wearing an outfit/dress that requires heels, then I feel like I have to wear makeup. Outside of that, not so much, lol.) As a redhead, I struggle with mascara - my naturally blond eyelashes (strawberry blond, but blond) look sort of silly coated in black or brown. You are beautiful with or without it!

Jen, you should look into Trinny London products. They are stackable makeup products that are much more customizable (plus you can get a mirror that clips on top) and it's all solid so doesn't count toward the liquid allowance. It's a life-saver for travel and they're really high quality. Having said that, now I'm tempted by a Subtl Beauty stack of my own 😂

Go to the makeup counters at Shiseido while you’re in Japan! The have wonderful products we don’t have in the US. I read once that not washing your face in the morning, just splashing it with some water, keeps the natural oils in your skin which works better than creams-so my laziness has helped my skin. Now when people ask what I do to have good skin I tell them I don’t wash my face😂

I've used Subtle Beauty for maybe two years now. I first started because I was tired of wasting large palettes and only using like two colors. I find it very convenient for travel and it's been working well for me. The only drawback I have found is that for my daily eye palette I tend to use one side more than the other so I find myself reordering that palette for that one color. I need to just find that color in another brand until I can use of the other halves I haven't used yet! It is pricey but I find it does last quite a while and you don't need much. Edited: I will be 52 in September!

I purchased my first Subtl stack last summer for our Mediterranean trip so I could have it on the plane for the overnight flight and the convenience of not having to take separate items. I made my own stack so I didn't get the bronzer but I really loved it. I have actually gone back and purchased a couple other eye shadows. I actually just used it again last weekend on our trip to Virginia Beach. My only complaint is the small makeup brush, but I can just use one of my other brushes.
