Oh cool you have the kind that produces seeds! Up north here in the east they mostly reproduce via tuber

Another great variety is Apios priceana. It's tubers are singular and larger whereas Apios americana has smaller tubers all joined together like fairy lights. They are in the legume family and to germinate the seeds you are best to soak them in a little hot water to swell the seed pod. The tubers are used in Chinese herbal medicine.
