When I worked at Texas Roadhouse last summer, I got threaten because a guy found it disrespectful that I kept looking over at his table. Mind you I was a server who had a table next to his and was checking on my table from a far. Apparently according to him, I was talking about him to my friends next to me and that apparently he was a former prisoner or something and I knew him. People get crazy when they think paying gives them power over someone. He got kicked out by the manager and was told never to come back or he will be arrested for trespassing. I have been working with the public since I was 15..I'm now 58. And it used to be only certain jobs were dangerous. Now just working with the public is dangerous no matter what you do because people are crazy. I manage a fiance office. I don't worry about getting robbed as much as I do people not getting a loan. I have literally prayed to God that some people would get a loan because I feared for my safety if they didn't. Christmas Eve I have to have my husband come in the last hour because people get crazy when they wait until the last minute and don't get a loan or they come after we have closed. Despite telling people starting after Thanksgiving we closed early Christmas Eve. My heart and prayers go out to the victims and their families.

One thing people fail to understand is that customers can be mentally unstable. Customer servants are not trained to deal with them either. Once a woman called 911 because her order was messed up at Taco Bell. Customer will snap at you and you will assume he or she is simply having a bad day. Excessive stress can make one nuts. Low blood sugar can make a person act a fool too...with or without diabetes. They could have an undiagnosed mental illness. Or just off their meds. As an OTR truck driver, I've had my food messed up so many times. It's also a miracle I'm still alive, thanks to the amount of times I had food poisoning(never at Subway). Which often occurs as a result of employee neglect. It's no fun to be sick while on the road. I never wanted to kill anyone over it.(But perhaps I should have sued). Subway is also at a lot of truck stops and travel centers. Had too much mayo on there more times than I can count. But no worries, since it's made to order, its easier to fix. If I want to kill someone (not just express anger or annoyance), but actually visualize myself killing that person, I will leave the restaurant and flee to the nearest hospital, because I would know something is seriously wrong with my mind. By the time a person graduates to murder, he or she could have been over the edge for weeks, months, or even years. The best one can do is apologize, fix the issue, and hope that he or she is placated enough to just move on without anyone being harmed.
