The truth is that when I saw Jake as Penny I said "this doesn't look good" but I was surprised by the designs of the zombies, the level, the music, even if it was made by someone for the game, is very good Even so, several aspects look very bad, such as the minigame, the gargs, some animations, etc. I can say that this event is acceptable EDIT:Something that I realized now was that When the new zombie dies, its headphones are separated from the body But one of its sides is attached to the head

It's probably already been commented but the reason the parkour zombie jumps over the plants at 11:43 is because the calvary zombie destroyed the tall-nut with his lance, allowing parkour to jump further into the lawn.

I think chard guard and maybe infinut can also block the new zombie too. And yes, gold leaf and thyme warp are now avaliable all worlds, even in international pvz2. The devs thought they could be sneaky about it, but i discovered it through a post on reddit.

Im p sure the int version was intended to have thyme warp and Gold leaf be usable in all worlds, meanwhile pvz2c was an oversight that got fixed (I think) Also pvz2c still has pre patch gold leaf and thyme warp which are dummy broken

Tbh that new zombie does actually suit the Subway Surfers theme since he moves left and right and jumps over things like you'd do in the actual Subway Surfers game. It would probably be better if he was slower though and only jumped one tile rather than two... And defiantly stop him being able to jump tallnuts and lawnmowers. The gargs look accurate to the guy who chases you and his dog though which is also a good reference.

I feel like the main issue as to why this update was broken was probably deadlines, judging by the work environment of most places in china. Which is a massive shame because it could have been a lot better, the parkour zombie and the 2d subway surfers mini game are a large example of this. They didn't even sync the collectables/ obstacles with the background.

Honestly I love this track, the instrumentation is much closer to that of a subway surfers track and makes it lean much further in that direction, so the sfx is a rather cute and charming way of grounding it in pvz. Good video as always, rewatched a couple of times already :)

this is actually insane. It's a shame its buggy and the levels are just re-used but the rest? the rest is amazing. its juuuust enough attention to detail to not be distracting, but its still noticeable. also the parkour zombie is really cool, to balance it I think they should've made it so that it can't just keep jumping, and it can actually run into and get stunned by any plant if it doesn't jump over it or dodge out of the way. maybe there could even be a chance it just doesn't jump/switch lane or it switches lanes into a lane with a plant, because, well, that happens in subway surfers. you're going so fast you make a dumb mistake.

Parkour Zombie is just like those crazy zombies from the various hardmode mods for PvZ1 that just run straight through your plants. Shit is ridiculous. At least this one can be stunned and or slowed.

Pvz2c devs try to make original levels for secret realms (impossible, 100% will fail) Seriously though, it’s a shame how all theses events have reused levels. Heck, I would be fine with them reusing the levels but swapping the none event made specials out for different ones (not having all stars spammed in like half the hard mode levels would be very nice) but they can’t even do that. Also once again every hard mode level has the “Don’t use Plantfood” objective, great. Something I will say is that it’s nice that they ATTEMPTED to make a new minigame for the event, but the final result is so clearly rushed and unpolished it’s hysterical. And the less said about Parkour Zombie the better. Just like every other event, the art of the zombies and lawn is great. And the fact they actually made new music which, while unfitting for PVZ or the level design, sounds fantastic. But the reused levels kill it for me. Really hope they go back to making new levels next event. Also unrelated note but I really love the design of the Mandrake. He’s such a goofy lil guy I love him

This is awesome and while buggy, (which is expected cause this is the Chinese version) it's so epic with the designs,the art and how it kinda captures subway surfers and they made the minigame actually subway surfers and that's awesome cause it reminds of pvz1 ds's air raid game mode except on foot plus the music is great and i absolutely love the mixing of the subway surfers main theme but then i hear brainic maniac and my heart filled with nostalgia back to when i reached the end of the 1st game cause oh wow it was nuts plus after that nostalgia wave i the hear subway city like damn so overall even with flaws this is still epic. Edit:yeah the minigame feels like a game from scratch and while there are bugs you do have comande the effort they did cause it is surprising that you can do this for pvz and the stages while reused cause yes it does the modern day thing where zombies from other worlds show up it's just different when you use different set ups and the parkour zombie is broken as hell and definitely more annoying then the jester (fight me)
