Subway Tile with a twist

For our first project in the Heights House Guest Bathroom, we partnered with #sponsor Lowe's to find simple, budget-friendly subway tile that's NOT your typical "subway tile" look.
By selecting a tile with a unique beveled feature and stacking them vertically, we were able to create a simple and contemporary style that you don't see every day. It will be the perfect complement to black walls and patterned floor tile-coming in the next episode!

I just did tile in our shower for the first time.. put plastic sheeting under cement board, then Redguard on top of the cement board, then thinset the tiles into place.. trying to keep the shower substrate dry!? No mention of what prep was done here?! Yikes 😱

This voice of experience says.....be sure to you a membrane liner in your shower to prevent water from leaking through and ruining the shower wall....that happened to me.

@Scott Koch there's more than one way to waterproof, like adding a vapor barrier before the cement board.
