Subwoofer Bass test Definitive Technology BP9080x 12" inch Subwoofer + 2x 12" inch Bass Radiators

Hi welcome to my video today I'm doing a test on my 12" inch Subwoofers + 12" inch Bass Radiators on my new Definitive Technology BP9080x Super Tower Bipolar with Dolby Atmos Integrated, it is hard to show with the fabric covering but hope I can show enough the bass is sick Vibrates everything at the volume of 60 out of 74 max hope you enjoy , Thanks.

I bought these tower speakers over a year ago and I am STILL blown the hell away by them. I bought four of them (2 fronts and 2 rears, all BP9080x) for my home theater and they never cease to amaze me!

Hey I'm so glad I found this channel...and your comment. I'm looking at investing in a home theater set up and def tec is number one on the list...along with SVS and Paradigm...do you have the dolby atmos module on top of your def tecs and if so, do you get that surround sound experience. Some people say if you want to hear a sound from above, put speakers up there so they can use the ceiling to bounce the sound down to you. And do you still need subwoofers with these beautiful speakers.

@@RobertSpiller I'm so late, I'm sorry! You don't need a separate subwoofer but I prefer to have one (well, I have 2) because it just makes for a more complete and balanced theatrical experience. And I own the BP9080x towers, which already have the height module pre-built. While I would prefer separate height speaker because they reproduce height sounds more accurately, the upfiring modules do a good enough job. My ceiling cannot support overhead speakers, so I had no choice. I am satisfied though!

hey filipe hows it going from australia, ive just ordered a set of the bp9080s, they look and sound incredible, are yours still going strong after ten months of damaging bass? I heard of some people having issues with the power pack in the speakers themselves but not sure if it was just salesmen trying to sell me different brands here?

Hi Joe mine's are still like new not problems at all and I use them every day, I mainly use them for movies and yes they are amazing it's not just the great sound that me impresses is the vibrations of stuff like cars passing by or plains landing etc etc feels like you are there , you made the right choice of getting these I bet you won't regret as the sound is superb . ThyMercenary they are great, I didint try the Atmos as my receiver doenst suport that will be my next upgrade the subs are amazing I use to run 2 subs one Velodyne SPL-1000 Ultra and one Def Tech Super Cube 4000 but the subs in this towers on my living room are much better when you watch a movie you not just listen you feel it as well .

I have two of these as well and run it with my atmos receiver. my dogs started to bark outside in teh garden it generated such a live sound in the living room. ....it was interesting to see how they turned their head when a rainfall was on with the atmos. The bass is amazing, I do not need any additional speakers. my setup is 2 front tower and the cs9080 center speaker, which is also an active speaker with additional subwoofer built in.

Bacon Ninja Studios yes they are worthy was the best thing I bought I chose these as I wanted to upgrade to Dolby Atmos I know I could buy the module separated for the other models but this one looks better with bigger driver and more powerfull I'm still blown away by the quality of detail and the bass power , if my living room was not odd and small I would buy another pair for the back. Good luck on your purchase if you buy these speakers you wont regret the are amazing . Thanks

Filipe_DC5 Maybe just play some music for a minute or so.. fade in and out a couple of different songs. Or from where you sit record 30-60 seconds of a good movie clip. Be creative! lol. I’m still new to all this too.

I have a pair and they are insane, question i have is that the sub is on the same side on both speakers, is it not supposed to be both subs facing towards each other like older definitive technology super towers?

I think they are the same side as there is no right or left speaker .

@@adsfghyy69 my subs are both on the left side of the speakers, if yours are the same I think is like that by default, but you can still contact them and ask if is normal. That's well spotted as I never paid attention to that.

Talked to my dealer and they looked it up and it’s normal as the bass of front firing as opposed to the past where the subs faced in

Filipe_DC5 I was also considering a external amp to something that provides 180-200watts per channel. Anything you would suggest with my setup? I have a SVS sun pc12 nsd and bic pl200. The subs won’t matter but as far as the 7 speakers I don’t think the sr5010 has enough oomph and I don’t want to under power it since it’s only a 100 watts per channel give or take with the quality in today’s standard haha. Thank you for your opinion!

Hey I just purchased Def Tech BP9020 I also have Def Tech ST 8020’s I should be able to use these for my rears ? I also have 8040 center Channel with my Pioneer Elite SC 81 receiver just wondering that would all work together.

Yes it will , I would use 8020 on rear and 9020 for front and if you upgrade to Dolby Atmos you just need the Atmos Module on the BP9020 . Thanks

@@rmk22sr.2 on my old receiver and on my new one they are both calibrated by a microfone so does all according to were you seat , but on my old one the Speakers were set to small and the sub yes but don't know what crossover they were . If you have the option to calibrate by microfone I recommend you to do it as it measures everything according to the room. Thanks
