I love that my country chose to vote for them. They’re so unique. I personally prefer the unique stuff in Eurovision because at the end of the night when it’s time to vote I always remember the stuff that stands out more, therefore I’m more likely to want to vote for unique stuff than something simple and forgettable. And I think that might be the case for a lot of people. As you could tell by last year, a lot of the songs in the top 10 were unique and stood out in some way unlike most off the songs in the bottom. I think the fact that they’re so unique and easy to remember could give them a good chance in the competition.

Totally. I really hope that there will be several interesting and unique acts this year, although for now, Norway is really one of my favourites. And yeah, just forget us Germans, we currently have the opportunity to choose between six acts, that mostly sound indistinguishable from each other in our finals... All the interesting artists were thrown out by our jury because they aren't "radio-friendly". If it really comes to those six (we currently have a petition running to include one of the thrown out candidates in our finals, but they are ignoring it), although I'm quite sure that most of them are great people and can produce interesting art besides their generic ESC entries (except for one, who sings about how people shouldn't be so negative all the time, truly the most tonedeaf song of them all), I think we truly deserve to be among the last at the ESC again...

Besides popularity means nothing in Eurovision. Take a look at Blue, they're more popular than Mahmood, but they didn't win the televote, not even close. Norway will win it, without a doubt.

Here's the thing about Eurovision: some countries excel at just being goofy and/or weird. We forget this since they're also pretty well-known for the straightforward stuff, but Norway is very much one of them. So are Latvia, Georgia, and Moldova (also Finland, but they haven't selected yet, and Hungary, RIP).
