The Indo-Nepalese Impasse dates back to Imperial British Days. When India was granted Independence by the Brits in 1947, India assumed it had naturally inherited British Sphere of Influence in the region. India took it for granted it had filled up the power vacuum created by the departure of British. Unfortunately, Nepal was caught unprepared and gradually Nepalese leaders began to fall prey to the greed of bribery offered by the Indian Government. Thanks to Chinese Government offer of opening up the Himalayas which had been accepted as a natural boundary but as the Chinese technology has begun to flourish, we are witnessing a new phenomena of trans-Himalayan commerce and trade becoming a reality. We welcome our neighbours into Nepal and we receive our redemption from them. I personally am hoping to be one of the first passengers in the Kathmandu-Lhasa train service.

I don't see how and why Baharat should facilitate the increase of its own problems. Nepal has long been an operational ground for the porki isi, but Nepal has always been indifferent towards it. As a matter of fact, Bharat has been enough gracious and magnanimous to allow Nepal trade routes in spite of Nepal's nefarious anti-Bharat activities. Do even one tenth of it with CCP and Nepal would know. One of Nepal's ex PM famously told that we have two neighbours. The one on the North doesn't bark but bites. The one on the South only barks but doesn't bite. However, I guess the times have changed and Nepal should be really cautious. I don't think Baharat is bothered with this rail. Neighboring states are always antagonistic; England and France for nearly 1000 years. India ignored Nepal since independence, so Nepal turns to China. Anyway when you compare China's railways with India's , it is obvious that India could not build the Nepal Railway. You will never see Chinese sitting on the roof of a carriage as you do with India. The Chinese have a comfortable seat inside

If Nepal needs to get rich, it must have a truly rich friend to help it. Everyone knows what India is like. Following India will only make it poorer, and Hindus cannot tolerate other ethnic groups, including Islam in their own country.

India had wanted to make Nepal theirs by restricting nepal's economy trade. India can easily manipulate Nepal internal by controlling what goes in and out of Nepal through India. If the china Nepal railway is up. Nepal had other route to receive supplies and exporting for trade.. Nepal is angry becuz this railway Co operation will free Nepal from India's plan. 😊

Modi is a very small man with a very small mind. When he showed up for BRICS summit this year in Johannesburg and S. Africa sent a vice minister to greet his presidential jet, he refused to disembark unless met/greeted by a S. African cabinet minister, all because S. African president himself greeted China's leader when he arrived earlier.
