Complete Revit Course for Beginners - 9 tutorials to learn Revit fast! (part 1/9)
Check out the full Revit course: successfularch...
In this full Revit course for beginners, you will learn Autodesk Revit. In 9 tutorials, you are going to learn how to design and model confidently using the industry’s leading 3D BIM software, Revit.
In part 1, you'll learn how to set up a Revit model, learn about the interface and navigating around Revit, be introduced to levels and set them up for a three storey residential project, learn about phasing and insert + scale reference images such as floorplans.
If you have ever watched a Successful Archi Student KZbin video, you would have noticed that Kyle is engaging, informative and entertaining.
His fast-paced, to-the-point teaching style is aided by concise explanations, animations, images and exciting story telling.
What is Revit?
Revit is a BIM (building information modelling) software that creates intelligent 3D models of buildings which can be used to produce construction documentation drawings and design presentations.
Revit is a building-specific solution for design and documentation and is currently the industry’s leading software for BIM.
Revit is used for conceptual design, 3D parametric modelling, detailed design documentation, multi-discipline coordination, modelling building components, analysing and simulating systems and structures, iterating and visualising architectural designs, building performance analysis and more.
Why learn Revit?
Revit not only allows architects to design and model 3D solutions, but the BIM software also allows for seamless collaboration between disciplines which makes working with structural engineers, other designers, and MEP consultants incredibly efficient.
Why learn Revit with Kyle?
Let’s face it. Learning new software is often complicated and difficult. Doing it by yourself makes it even harder, but it doesn’t need to be that way. In this course, you will be learning from a Master’s student who has practical Revit experience across three architectural firms (which all use Revit as a main design and documentation tool). You will be able to follow along to learn the skills and confidence you need to use the software efficiently in a professional setting.
You can spend days, weeks or months learning Revit by yourself, and not necessarily learning it the right way. In Kyle’s 4-hour course, you can fast-track that journey to gain the skills to design and model in Revit at a professional level.
Most online Revit tutorials or courses are boring, slow going and demonstrate incorrect practices. Trust me, I’ve found that out the hard way. If you’ve watched Kyle’s videos before, you’d know that these Revit tutorials are fun, fast and easy to follow.
If you want to learn Revit the in a fun, fast and easy way, check out the full Revit course (100+ Revit tutorials) on my website: successfularch...

Kyle, i want to say thank you for uploading this series of Revit Tutorials. Being a floor & truss designer, i am trying to learn Revit so i can start designing homes for myself. One question i had tho, was the 1st height. I noticed you mention the porch/front entrance being 0mm but then the 1st level being 1400mm which was based off 7 (200mm) risers. At 21:22 you can see the floor plan & it shows 4 risers up to the landing/ 1st level. That being said , the 1st floor is actually 800mm above the front entrance. Let me know if i am understanding this correctly. I would greatly appreciate your response. Thank you nonetheless. Love from Canada 🇨🇦

Coming from Archicad and Revit seems to be much more detail ! it doea intimidating at first, but I'll try... Maybe i switch to Revit as my main BIM tools

So for revit 2024 I could not find the architectural template. Would it be residential instead? There’s a whole new list

I appreciate your tutorials. Coming back after years this has been so helpful. I have a dumb question. I have deleted the properties tab. Simple X I accidently clicked on. How do I restore the properties tab?

Any recommendations for tutorials for structural/civil engineers? I have used revit before in architecture courses, but I am in school for civil engineering and looking to work on a extracurricular project and I need the details of that strutural tab

I've been using autocad and rhino so far but BIM sofwares seem much more practical that I almost question why I bother with any other program. Thanks for this video, it was really helpful. p.s I also play ice hockey but it's hard when you're an architecture student!

Very cool! Definitely not much time to practice hockey. BIM is the future, but I don't think learning other programs is a waste of time. But, I would definitely spend a majority of my time using Revit or other BIM software.

Hi, thanks for the great tutorial! Thank you for creating the series for learning the software step-by-step, I truly appreciate this. I used to work in ArchiCAD at school, and looks like Revit is so similar, isn't it? Or it's just the first glance, which might not be so correct.

another way in assuming heights is use the scale and use the standard height of the actual window. Normally, windows comes on the industry standard height
